I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread

Psalm 37.25

God will fulfill the promises announced in His Word. One of them is to never forsake the righteous. The devil has spread lies that the Lord sometimes forsakes His own, and there are those who believe this and cause others to grieve with this deception. However, all righteous people should trust in the Lord and not accept the words of the father of lies (John 8:44). The truth is that the righteous, even in the midst of hardships and temptations, will never be forsaken by God.

King David lived 70 years and reigned for 40 years in Jerusalem, but from before he was placed on the throne of Israel until the end of his reign, he never saw anything lacking for those who trusted in God, nor for his descendants. There is dignity for those who walk uprightly and practice righteousness. The Most High never forgets those who live in His shadow (Psalm 91:1). He is faithful!

When the Lord was about to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding villages, Abraham asked if He would destroy them if there were 50 righteous people there, and He said no (Genesis 18:23-33). The patriarch lowered the number to 45, 40, 30, 20, and 10 righteous people, and God revealed that He would not destroy them if there were that many righteous people in that place. But, unfortunately, not even ten righteous people were found. What a shame! Lot had moved to Sodom and did not influence anyone to practice righteousness!

Sometimes Christians are filled with anger over certain bad things that happen in their country without anyone being able to explain why, but the truth is that no one bothered to ask the Lord if that calamity could have been avoided if there had been righteous people there. Now, one righteous person living there would have been enough for God's judgment not to have occurred. On the other hand, many people have not yet learned to respect divine warnings, even though they are considered righteous!

It is good to grow old as a servant of God, for one lives without seeing a single defeat in those who practice His Word, showing the world how much better it is to have the Lord's company than to live in uncertainty about the future. Those who serve the Most High see that He protects them at all times. Jesus told the Father that of those who were given to Him, none were lost except the son of perdition (John 17:12). What glory!

According to the Lord Jesus, there was no loss of His own, because He kept them in the Name of God (John 17:11). Therefore, we must always protect ourselves when one of our natural or spiritual children is in danger; after all, the Scriptures concerning us must be fulfilled. The righteous have the angel of the Lord around them to give them the security they need: The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. (Psalm 34.7). Believe, pray, and watch!

It does not matter what the enemy does against you, nor if it seems invincible. The Word of God affirms that there is an angel encamped around you—this is true if you are righteous. The Lord's messenger will deliver you from any attack from the kingdom of darkness. Be steadfast in your faith and continue to resist until victory, for, if necessary, God will send more resources (Daniel 10:12).

Today's Prayer

God, our Guardian! If You keep us as You promised, why should we fear or exchange faith for fear, since fear does not come from You? We will never stop serving You or doing Your will; on the contrary, we will walk firmly in faith with our heads held high!

We will bow only before You and gladly march on to complete victory. The enemy will have to bow before our command in Your Name. For us, the Word of Your Son, who has given us power to fight and defeat the evil one, is enough!

We want to remain righteous; thus, no problem will challenge or overcome us; rather, all will fall to the ground, and none of our children, both natural and in faith, will beg the Bread of Life provided by You, to make us more than conquerors in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37)!
