After this it came to pass that David attacked the Philistines, subdued them, and took Gath and its towns from the hand of the Philistines

1 Chronicles 18:1

Many Christians miss out on blessings because they don't know that after praying and making things right with the Lord, they must do His will. In his day, David, the intrepid king of Israel, went into battle to win victory and the respect of his subjects and neighboring peoples. After God showed him the reason for making him king, David went to fight in various regions and, upon winning, brought back spoils that enriched his nation.

Let us not waste time with struggles that can be solved by anyone. We must defeat evil and show the evil one that we are true servants of God. Those who do not think this way become lost in battles they consider too great. Those who believe that the Most High is greater than their problems enjoy unparalleled peace, prosperity, and health. God is greater!

The Philistines were the biggest problem for Saul, the king who preceded David and tried to kill him so that he would not replace him on the throne of Israel. However, because David had the anointing of Heaven on his life, he escaped from Saul and soon showed those who came from Crete, from the island of Caphtor, that everything was different with him, for he fought the battles of the Lord. We should not fear the enemy, but rather face him and emerge victorious (James 4:7). We have the authority of the Name that is above all names (Philippians 2:9). Believe it!

Why let the devil oppress us and despise our position in Christ, if the Lord Himself has given us authority over him, as the Word says Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19) We need to believe in Jesus, since we are His brethren, as well as children and servants of God. The anointing to repel the enemy's resistance is upon us!

After the Philistines learned not to provoke the man of God, David fought beyond the borders of Israel and never lost a single battle. He proved to be a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22). The Bethlehemite had the personal testimony of the Creator and, therefore, never let any doubt enter his heart. From the moment Christians assume their position as children of God (Romans 8:16) and are seated with Christ on the throne (Ephesians 2:6), they become invincible like David.

What demon can defeat you if you fight the works of evil in the Name of Jesus? Hell bows before Him: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10, 11). Use the authority of the Name of the Lord!

Never treat lightly what God has placed in your hands to cooperate in the work of saving humanity. Be a good person, do what He has commanded you, so that on the Day of reward, you may reach out your hand and receive your reward. Love the Lord and keep His commandments!

Today's Prayer

God of Truth! We must value what You grant us by obeying Your commands. Thus, we will glorify Your Name and, one day, we will be rewarded in Heaven. We are called to carry out Your work. Help us, Lord!

We want to overcome the forces of Hell sent against us. We have spiritual authority for this and the anointing to reveal Who You are and who we are in You. Many times, we are tempted to act outside of the Word. Do not allow it, Father!

If we only do what You have commanded, we will be "unworthy servants." May we go beyond what is expected and may our lives be a constant praise to Your Name, in obedience to Your commandments and precepts!
