And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled

Colossians 1.21

The position of human beings before God was not good at all, for they were strangers and enemies of the Lord. This enmity stems from misunderstanding and evil deeds committed by those who do not know or keep God's commandments. This leads the devil to become the master of that person's life, causing them to desire what is sinful (Ephesians 2:1-3).

In the past, those who did not submit to the Law displeased God and lived under the authority of the evil one, following his suggestions. But with the coming of Jesus, as well as the proclamation of the Good News and the action of the Holy Spirit in us, we feel troubled by sin, and we call on the Name of Jesus to save and deliver us (Romans 10:13). He did the work!

After encountering Christ, we delve deeper into the revelations of God's Word, reading His teachings or listening to His preaching. With this, our pains and weaknesses faded, and soon we felt well. Today, we would not trade the blessings we have received from the Father for anything in this world. In fact, the devil wants us to return to his clutches, but we are free from him.

In the Bible, it is said that Jesus reconciled us with the Father, brought us into the divine presence, and works in us and through us whenever we call upon Him and worship Him in spirit and in truth (Colossians 1:21; Philippians 2:13; John 4:23). His Name gives us authority over the forces of Hell, sickness, evil, and temptations that want to take us back under the enemy's yoke (Philippians 2:9-11). Why would we trade our position as free servants for that of slaves to Satan, who can no longer touch us? (1 John 5:18)

Now, reconciled to God by the blood of Jesus, we move forward to know more about our position in Him who anointed us and set us apart to act in His Name and do what He did. The Master gave us an example of how to proceed in the midst of tribulations (John 13:15). Today, when the enemy rises up against God's servants, the Holy Spirit raises His banner and attacks him (Isaiah 59:19). The Lord is faithful!

From being alienated and enemies of God in our understanding due to our evil deeds, we have become His friends and faithful servants who do good works (Ephesians 2:10). We will no longer fear the devil's provocations or give him any importance, because we are kept in the hiding place of the Most High, which will never be discovered or invaded by the enemy. In this refuge, the Lord's servants are never shaken, even though the whole world around them is falling apart.

Let the struggles and threats of the evil one come! Nothing can takes us away from the presence of the Lord; after all, we rest in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1), from where we will never leave. Our Father is greater than all. He guards us with love and dedication. Doing His will, we will not be shaken. Be faithful to God, and you will see that He will never leave you!

In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer

Our Lord! We thank You for what You did for us, giving Your only Son to die in our place, so that we might be forgiven, freed, and reconciled with You. Thus, sin and the devil lost the battle!

While we were alienated and enemies to You, we lived in trouble. Now, we are truly Yours. Nothing will separate us from Your love! We live in peace and joy that will never end. We are fulfilled in You!

If we no longer practice the works of the enemy, why do we fear him? They were like shackles of Hell, leaving us vulnerable to suffering. But we are free from them and are more than conquerors in Christ!
