Isaiah continues to speak of the evils that will come upon humanity. Such afflictions will make people realize how greatly they have been deceived by the devil. The situation will become so difficult that they will be astonished, but this reaction will be useless. It is sad to observe the warnings of the prophets and of Jesus Himself, showing that not a single stone will be left upon another from the constructions of those days. Nor will the agreements made by men remain in force.

Upon witnessing such events, many people will feel pain in both body and soul, because of the despair that will overcome them. How will they live if they do not seek the Lord while He may be found? Why stumble through life, if walking with Him is available to everyone? The lost do not understand that we are made by the Most High to have a superior life. The demon of lust holds them captive!

See what Jesus said to us: These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). The path is available to everyone, but some will say it is too early to leave sin, as they need to enjoy life. I ask you: How many die while still young? Others completely shut themselves off from Christ because they want to follow the king of death!

Neither the lost nor even physicians know what affliction is. All the pains they have ever healed do not come close to the suffering that distressed bodies will endure during the Great Tribulation. Those who want to live forever away from the tempter and his lies must surrender to the Savior. Thus, they will escape the wrath that will come upon the living (John 3:36). Jesus is our Guarantee of survival! 

The prophet continues explaining how people will feel:  they will be in pain as a woman in childbirth. Many women become anxious because of childbirth, as once they are pregnant, they will have to give birth. Some only think about the cesarean section because they imagine that the post-surgery pain will be less intense than that of natural childbirth. Pregnant women should remember that this process was created by God.

According to the biblical account, we can believe that many will act irrationally. The events that will sweep across the world will be terrifying, especially for those who are averse to violence and contempt. Each one will distrust their brother, and some will even betray their own flesh and blood. (Matthew 24:4-35). It will not be easy to endure what will happen soon!

How to raise a family in this situation? The face of each individual will be like the flames shown by the Lord to Isaiah. Therefore, each one will be astonished at their neighbor. There is nothing better than turning to Christ, so that no deadly threat will overtake you. (1 Thessalonians 1:10).
