I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague those who hate him.

Psalm 89.23

There is no need for any Christian to beat down his enemies, because the Lord has said that this is His prerogative. God takes it upon Himself to overthrow those who rise up against you. The Father has taught us how to act towards those who persecute and slander us: let Him take care of the situation. It doesn't matter if someone has spent a long time in witchcraft; the devil no longer has power over those who are saved (1 John 5:18)!

In the Bible, we read about several battles in which God's people were greatly helped by Him. When it looked like the Israelites would lose the fight, they cried out to the Lord, and He helped them in a great new way. Then their tormentors were totally defeated. Now, everything that happened to Israel on that occasion is an example of what will happen to those who trust in God (1 Corinthians 10:1-11). So, in any situation, claim your rights and believe!

We can take as an example the destruction of the Egyptian army, when Pharaoh regretted releasing the Hebrews and decided to go after them and put an end to them. The Lord took action and made the Egyptian soldiers, who were trying to kill the children of Jacob, drown in the waters of the Red Sea: The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea (Exodus 15.1b). The Almighty watches over us!

The battle for Canaan had got off to a good start for Israel, and the peoples who lived there came together to give a fitting response. When some kings heard that Gibeon had made peace with Israel, they went to attack it. Joshua had pledged to protect the Gibeonites, who asked him to help them quickly. The prophet answered this call, and God helped him greatly, sending stones from heaven upon the Amorites and stopping the sun for almost a day (Joshua 10:1-14). The Most High will help you too!

On one occasion, God came to Judah's defense when King Asa found himself unable to fight against the Ethiopian army, which was coming against him with a million soldiers. As a result, the adversaries were defeated: So the LORD struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled (2 Chronicles 14:12). The devil cannot destroy God's people if they pray with determination. Never pay attention to your problem; rebuke it and the Lord will answer you. He is our Father!

No people could resist the Assyrian Empire, which ruled for 13 centuries. However, when their king wanted to subjugate Judah, the tiny country whose ruler was God-fearing, he was defeated by Hezekiah, who loved the Most High: And it came to pass on a certain night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty - five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses - all dead (2 Kings 19:35). God is ready to deliver you from evil!

Through Ethan, God has promised to bring down our opponents before our faces. This was done when Jesus went to Hell and stripped Satan and his demons of the power taken from our first parents, Adam and Eve (Colossians 2:15). Now they cannot oppress us, because through Jesus' love in defeating the devil and his princes, we have been forgiven, set free and made alive!

Today's Prayer

Lord, our Deliverer! We have no words to thank You for Your blessings poured out on humanity when Jesus paid the price for our redemption. This is the time to rebuke evil and glorify You for salvation in Christ!

We don't have to endure the sufferings caused by the devil; in the Savior, we have been redeemed from Adam's fall and made alive. This is what the Scriptures say about us, so we give You thanks and our gratitude!

Prepare us to minister salvation to the four corners of the earth, confirming the precious message by performing wonders, prodigies and signs on behalf of those who follow the revelations of the Word. They are the blessed of this generation!
