Now You have been pleased to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for You have blessed it, O Lord, and it shall be blessed forever”

1 Chronicles 17:27

David prayed for his house, for the Lord had said that He would establish his kingdom (1 Chronicles 17:11-14). If David's descendants strayed from God's Law, He could not keep them on the throne for long. However, the true fulfillment of the promise would come with the coming of Jesus, the King of kings, whose lineage came from David, confirming everything the Creator had said. You are also a recipient of this wonderful promise!

I was still a boy, between seven and nine years old, when I read in the Bible that if I believed in Jesus and accepted Him as my Savior, I and my household would be saved. I was amazed by this passage! At the time, I was the only one in my family who had been converted to the Gospel. When I read this statement, I smiled and began to pray, interceding for my parents and siblings to accept Jesus, and God heard me!

Don't put it off until tomorrow. Start praying to God today, calling on Him to make everyone in your family belong to Him. Never lose sight of this glorious promise. Quote it in your prayers, declaring that you want to see it fulfilled. Paul spoke it to the Philippian jailer after an earthquake shook the prison. The man had asked him what he must do to be saved. The apostle replied: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:31).

I took hold of this revelation, and only God knows how happy I was when I baptized my parents. They brought me into this world, and the Lord, through me, led them into the Kingdom of Heaven. Strive to lead your loved ones to salvation, which will last forever. Your reward will be great, for one convert is worth more than all the gold in the world. God rejoices when a sinner repents (Luke 15:7).

When David thought of his family ruling Israel forever, he asked that they remain in God's presence. As for us, we should ask that our loved ones be before God continually, because salvation will guarantee them happiness in Heaven (Psalm 16:11), where there will be no sin, pain, or death (Revelation 21:4). Our mission is to strive for our household to enjoy salvation in Christ, which will never be taken away from them.

When the Lord blesses a person, they remain blessed. There is nothing to change when God has already granted us eternal life. After all, the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.  (Romans 11:29). However, if someone sins, they must repent so that they do not remain separated from the Father. The Word of God guarantees in 1 John 1:9 that if the sinner confesses their transgressions, they will be forgiven.

It is important to remember that God has entrusted us with the care of our family, to bring all its members to the knowledge of Christ, to repentance, and to salvation: But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8).

Today's Prayer

Lord of eternal glory! You want to save our family and our friends and have entrusted them to our care. May we be responsible, so that no one is eternally lost! Thank you, Father!

We want the well-being of our relatives not only on Earth, but also, and above all, in Heaven. We do not wish that anyone becomes a servant of the devil, but rather that they repent, in order to experience how good and faithful You are!

We are grateful that You sent Your Son to rescue us and deliver us from evil. Today, now set free, we cry out that our family and friends may enjoy Your great love. You are faithful and just!
