For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God.

Hebrews 6:7

Before man was created, the earth was dry, and a mist watered it: But a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground (Genesis 2:6). Before there was rain, there were no plants: any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground (Genesis 2:5). Now, the soil needs to soak up water in order to produce our food!

In the spiritual life, there are also times of spiritual nourishment, when we are drenched with revelations and other divine blessings, which help us to overcome crises. That's why, when we feel the precious liquid flowing into our hearts, we must embrace everything the Lord shows us, so that faith may arise, as the Word declares: So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). Rejoice with God!

Here is the promise: the rain will fall many times, so that the law of planting and reaping will work in our favor. In the verse under study, we are the earth that will receive the continuous rain of revelations from Heaven in order to bear fruit. This fruitfulness is required of the saved, as Jesus warned in the parable of the talents. Therefore, it is important to examine ourselves so that we may not be found wanting (Matthew 25:13-30).

Remember: the soil absorbs rain easily, but something may arise that prevents water from entering it. Many people are resistant to God and reject the blessings He pours out on them, making it difficult for them to bear fruit. Some hide their sins, and because they don't repent, they miss out on the blessing (Isaiah 59:1-2). The Lord and sin cannot dwell in the same place!

The rains represent divine inspiration. Unfortunately, some people provoke the Most High, using these inspirations to commit acts unworthy of those sanctified by faith. Then, when they find themselves in difficulty, they blame the Lord for not helping them in the face of evil. Whoever does not come to God joins forces with the evil one (Luke 11:23). Why do Christians ignore the Almighty's warnings if He desires to bless them?

The land will produce useful plants and, in order to generate much more than has been cultivated, it will only depend on a few factors. Firstly, it must be prepared by someone who knows the secret of agriculture, and it must be plowed and sown at the right time. The rains that fall according to God's plan will give an abundant harvest. This is how the farmer works on his farm, because he knows the time to plant and harvest!

The land will provide a profitable harvest for those who treat it well. Those who don't care about the resources for good production will never venture to take care of the soil and wait to sow the grain and reap the results. The stages of this process must be completed according to the Lord's purpose for the good of all. Get ready now!

Today's Prayer

Lord of the law of sowing and reaping! Many people could be alive and prosperous, but they didn't listen to You and are no longer in our midst. Others didn't pay attention to the fact that You wanted their good, so they disobeyed You and hid the talent!

Within your Word, we find all the answers. Many believe in You, are happy and loving You more and more; others don't want to follow You, and never will, because they think they are wiser than You, Father. Mercy!

We must be obedient to Your command, having pure ears to hear You and heed everything You reveal in Your Book. We want Your help to put Your directions into action. There is no way Your children can hide from You. Father, guide them on the path to success!
