BREAKING SIEGES

They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
Psalm 118.11
David said that the nations surrounded him. It was a confederation of countries determined to wipe Israel's name off the map. However, because he knew the Lord as his Protector, David simply broke through the siege. It doesn't matter if it's one person, ten or thousands who threaten your life; the Almighty will protect you. So go into battle with the certainty of victory. There's no way the devil can defeat you!
Our struggle is against the principalities, the powers, the rulers of the darkness of this age and the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6.12). We can be sure that nothing and no one will overcome us, because we are authorized to use the Lord's power. He will come into action when we rebuke the evil one, ordering his destruction. The devil enters the battle against us already knowing that he will be defeated. Even so, he tries and loses.
Once you have annihilated the enemy, don't let your guard down, because he will attack again. We must be on our guard, so that we can prevent Hell from arming itself and attacking us again. If we falter, he will get the best out of it. The Bible talks about who we are in the fight against the enemy of our soul: Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37).
It's good to be in communion with the Father. However, if at the time of the battle you remember that you are not right with God, enter into prayer and confess your faults in order to be forgiven. Then you will be in a position to succeed in the battle, because the Word says: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1.9). Cleansed, forgiven and filled with faith, you will succeed!
David said that he used the Name of the Lord to obtain victory. This name releases the power from On High and accomplishes what God has promised. The use of the name, which is above every name, guarantees the success of the endeavor. The psalmist was attacked by his adversary again, but in the Name of the Lord, he overcame him the first and second time. If the devil insisted on sending his minions, he would destroy them.
The enemy insists on coming against us because he thinks we will tire of fighting. But the Lord Jesus taught us to persevere through the struggles of life. God's power never tires of working on our behalf. As you battle, quote one of the Bible's statements about you, which talks about your right to blessing. Whoever believes and fights, making mention of the Wonderful Name of the Man of War, comes out triumphant!
The second time he was besieged, the king of Israel threw himself into it with all his faith, and the outcome was the destruction of the enemy’s power. The Bible says: If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small (Proverbs 24.10). Knowing your right to live freely, you must know the Truth revealed in the Scriptures. This way, faith will grow in your heart!

Today's Prayer
God, our Strength! Not only did David win the first time the confederacy of nations came against him, but the second time he smashed it to pieces. We cannot play with the Truth, because the enemy will never stop disturbing us. We must shatter his power. Help us, Father!
We are grateful for You fighting on our behalf! This gives us the certainty that we will succeed. That's why we need to believe in You and use Your Name to announce it to those who surprise us with their attacks.
Why not defeat the one Jesus has already defeated? We are part of Your body. We know that You never lose any battles, so we give You the glory You deserve. You are our Strength at all times. Thank You, Lord!
