We can never play with God, setting aside His Word and doing what we think is right, even though He has warned us not to commit such an act. What happened to humanity after Adam's sin was too serious, which is why we must respect the Lord (Genesis 3). After all, we are talking about the Being who created everything out of nothing. He would never toy with man. We must always honor Him.

In the beginning, the first couple lived in complete innocence. However, when Eve was walking through the Garden of Eden, the serpent approached her and asked: “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” (Genesis 3.1b-3). Then the serpent said that if they ate, their eyes would be opened and they would not die, but would be like the Creator (v. 4,5), and the woman ate.

Later, after finding Adam, Eve gave him the fruit, and he ate it. Well, the Bible does not mention Eve's sin because, by talking to the serpent, she was in the devil's hands. As for Adam, he did not, therefore he sinned consciously (1 Timothy 2:14). Thus, sin entered the world and, through sin, death, the nature of Satan, causing all the descendants of Adam to sin.

That was the work that disrupted creation. Today, by disobeying God, we also attract evil forces to disturb us. However, there is something we must not forget: the Father forgives us because of the blood of Christ shed on the cross for our sanctification. Therefore, if we sin and repent, we will attain divine mercy, which will save us from falling (1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7). The Savior is the Guaranty of our forgiveness!

Strive never to stumble and renounce sin. However, if you do commit it, cry out to the Lord, with repentance, and acknowledge your transgression. God is already working to restore you (1 John 2:1,2). Repentance is not something you produce on your own, but it is the work of the Holy Spirit, who convinces you of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). The Lord does not want to lose you. Remember: the blood of Jesus speaks louder before the Father than that of Abel.

Upon understanding that the Word came to save you, pray based on it. The Most High does not take pleasure in seeing you sad, crying, and thinking that you will go to Hell. God rejoices when one of His children confesses their guilt and accepts His forgiveness (Luke 15:7,10). Therefore, death will never operate in you, but life will. In light of this, be strong and believe in the law of the Spirit and of life in Christ (Romans 8:2).

Do not keep your focus on the statement that death spread to all men, but rather on the Scriptures that say that life has passed to you and to those who have fallen into transgression (2 Corinthians 5:17). God loves you, so love Him too. Come out of death!
