The name of his firstborn was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba
1 Samuel 8.2
Apparently, the names of Samuel's sons would add nothing to the unfolding of events, but that's not quite the case. The first son of Samuel was Joel, which means Jehovah is God. By what this man did, he did not believe in what his name said (v. 3). Many people who work in church have a beautiful, strong name, and speak with confidence, but do not act as they should in the ministerial or administrative role they received from the hand of God.
Pastor means guardian of sheep. However, many have been consecrated to this ministry of great importance in the house of prayer for all nations (Mark 11:17), but they care little about the way of life of the Lord's sheep. I am not generalizing, for there are true workers of the Spirit of God, who are not corrupted by anything, but are living examples of good and faithful servants.
The second son of Samuel was named Abijah, which means: Jehovah is my Father. It is a name that shows power, but people did not see that in him or his brother. Even so, the prophet appointed them to the position of judges in Israel. Again, I don't want my comments to be against Samuel, the great servant of God, whose name means: Hearing from God, or Name of God. The end of Samuel’s sons, the great servant of God, was not good. Watch and pray!
It is sad to see people who, apparently, are part of the Lord's work and let themselves be led by temptations, losing themselves in sins. It's hard to understand them. From those who are called by the Lord, more is expected than from the general populace. Being members of the church ministry, we cannot pursue the temptations offered by the devil. We have an agreement with the Most-High!
I have seen well-intentioned people in church, who did the work with dedication, whose lives were changed after they got married. I always advise those who wish to go where God sends them not to be led astray by the evil one. When he comes to tempt them, I instruct them not to examine his proposals, but to rebuke him, using the power of the Name of Jesus, which will guard them forever. Never give in to temptation!
The apostle Paul had an apprentice who behaved well in the presence of God, but he accepted everything the devil showed him and abandoned his post to gain more with Satan's lie (2 Timothy 4:10). Be faithful to the Lord at all times! Those who are not grounded in the teachings of the Most High become easy prey in the hands of the adversary.
Follow from a distance the people who have strayed from the Truth and see where they are today. There is nothing to celebrate when someone leaves God's work for any deceitful reason: But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them (John 10.12). Stand firm in the Lord!
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
Father! Jesus said that He would build His Church upon the Rock, and the gates of Hell would not prevail against it. However, we have seen people in whom we invest our time to prepare them, and then, like mercenaries, they go after profit.
They were deceived by the serpent and, to justify themselves, they make up stories and hide under the dirty cloak of the devil. They do not realize that You see everything, know everything, and the excuse they try to give on the day of Judgment will not convince You, because You are the Truth!
What good is it to make money, if the day of trial will come and whoever does not remain in Christ will never have the spiritual power to rebuke the enemy? On that Day, many will repent for choosing to listen to Satan. We want to live according to Your will!
