DON'T CAUSE SCANDALS

Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!

Luke 17.1

In history, there are many kinds of records, but the most beautiful of all is this: God has always loved humanity with true love, forgiving sins and teaching people how to walk in a way that pleases Him. Now, unfortunately, some people have been careless and given the devil opportunities to find breaches in their lives and, sometimes, even within the church itself, which was bought at the highest price ever paid: the blood of the blessed Savior, Jesus Christ!

The devil will always tempt people, and the saved must understand that sin separates them from the Lord and if they die in that condition, they will go to a place of eternal suffering. It is not worth committing adultery, for example, betraying the spouse to whom one is joined in marriage. However, even if you have fallen into this transgression, you may return to God's presence if you repent!

Shameful scandals are happening within families, sometimes involving someone from the household itself. There is no way to accept that a father would abuse his daughter or son. Even if this man gave in to temptation, he had to think about the seriousness of his action. No crime is justifiable, and consequences will follow. Jesus himself said: but woe to him through whom they do come! Now, if there is genuine repentance, there is forgiveness. Be vigilant!

What can be said about someone who is regarded as a servant of God but, when given the opportunity to sin, does not hesitate and afterward, when arrested, cries and asks that the truth not be told, because it was a mistake? Unfortunately, there are brothers who abuse their own brothers, and family members who deceive disabled people who should be cared for by them. Mercy!

Why be counted among criminals if, because of this, you will not rise with Jesus at His return? The one who causes scandal will be put to shame in the court of eternity.  Once again, I ask why anyone would sell themselves to the devil and thus condemn themselves on the Day of reckoning. Strive not to give in to temptation, pray and fast if you are under strong temptation, for you must never allow yourself to be led by darkness.

It was because of a scandal that John the Baptist was beheaded. He was outraged to see King Herod take his brother's wife. John told him clearly that this was indecent. Although Herod respected John and liked to listen to him, when he saw the daughter of his lover dancing sensually, he promised to give her whatever she asked. At her mother’s request, she asked for John’s head (Matthew 14:1–11).

It is not worth sinning. If you have an affair with the most beautiful person in town, know that this diabolical desire will cause you to embrace the flames of the lake of fire and brimstone, which will never stop burning you. Be wise! Jesus is the eternal Judge and has declared that those who cause scandals will face endless punishment!

Today's Prayer

Father, true Friend! Why do some give in to the enemy, knowing they will face perdition and eternal fire? We must warn sinners that they must seek You to abandon iniquity!

Christ said that it is impossible for offenses not to come. Lord, use us to show people that they must not be deceived by temptation. You will not overlook those who refuse to repent of their sins!

We do not know the hour of our departure. It may come quietly, or it may come through great suffering. If we are not in communion with You, we will not be spared. Father! This matter makes us tremble with sorrow for those who will be lost!
