Forever, o Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.

Psalm 119.89

The Lord and His Word are one; it is the Lord Jesus, the Son (John 1:1), in His eternal form (John 1:1-14). Heaven is the place of perfection, where God's throne is, and our Savior is at the right hand of the Father, the Creator of everything (Colossians 3:1). The Word, containing the divine promises, is our Guide and will continue to be until the day we stand before the Father. We need to live before Him in order to serve Him!

We cannot increase or decrease anything in the Word, because it is the divine Word, the expression of God and the Holy Spirit, as Isaiah declared: “As for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the LORD, “from this time and forevermore” (Isaiah 59:21).

There is much for us to learn from the New Covenant, but without the gift of repentance at work and the Lord's mercy, little will be revealed to us. Peter felt this lack when he spoke of Paul's statements: “as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist, to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures” (2 Peter 3:16). We are no better than the ungodly!

The Word remains in Heaven, where there is no corruption or deviation. It is the full will of the Father done with total fidelity. Without a doubt, we need to have the true fear of the Most High, so that we never deviate from the path proposed to His servants. Like the apostle Paul, we need to fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith, without which we are not pleasing to the Lord (1 Corinthians 8:8; 1 Peter 2:5). Let's press on in the Truth!

The Word is what God represents to us. It is a refuge, a strength, and a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). When we read the Bible, we should do so carefully, waiting for the Lord's guidance, in order to improve our lives in the face of the Truth. The Father molds His children in this way and frees them from the evil inclinations that may still exist in them.

Paul, realizing that he had serious problems with the inclinations of the flesh, exclaimed: “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” (Romans 7:24). This is why we need the understanding of the One who lives forever in Heaven, in order to serve the Lord with excellence, which is possible, for there is no one who can testify to the contrary. Our consolation is God's mercies, which are renewed every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

How holy and powerful our Father is! His way of treating us is most excellent, and His favors delight us beyond measure. We are flesh and susceptible to mistakes, but divine gifts are irrevocable (Romans 11:29). Aware of this truth, never be discouraged. The Creator knows everything and loves us! Believe that nothing will separate us from Christ's love. Although He is God, He dwells in us, His children!

           In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer

God of eternal love! What security! We are Your children, and that will not change. Mold us according to Your holy will, leading us to experience Your best every day, as we journey toward the heavenly Zion. Thank You for loving us!

Your Word and Your Spirit are the covenant You made with man, giving Your Son to pay the price for the fall. Now, we are completely Yours, and nothing will keep us from You. It's good to know that we'll be with You forever!

May our lives be a constant outpouring of Your presence! We accept no one but You into our hearts. The New Covenant has made us Yours to live under Your protection and Your love. Help us to snatch up those who have lost their way!
