The ministry of Jesus must be seen and analyzed from all angles, for He is the Example to be followed. His life, His teachings, and His preaching, as well as the use of God's power in favor of those who needed to be blessed, will give us freedom: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father (John 14.12).

After spending 40 days in consecration to the Father to begin His work, the Master started to travel through Galilee to teach. He fasted during those days, and on that occasion, the devil took the opportunity to tempt Him. Matthew wrote: And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.  (Matthew 4.23). Why did Christ teach?

During a good part of His ministry, Jesus guided the people with the Truth. The Scriptures presented Him as the Messiah who was to come, but He had not yet manifested to anyone as the Chosen One of God. Beside other revelations, Christ showed the difference between God and the devil, as well as between the religious person and the one who believes in the Lord. The Most High works in those who believe in the Word and acts as the Savior promised by Heaven!

As He traveled through Galilee, Jesus demonstrated what it meant to accept God's will, even without understanding it, and how this obedience could benefit those who loved Him. The Master held His meetings freely, and the people rejoiced, for they witnessed the Son of God speaking with authority. Christ preached the Word that generates faith, as recorded in the text of Matthew 4:23.

This took a long time, and while He taught, the Savior knew what He should do. He instructed people to proceed correctly in order to receive the blessings. They rejoiced at what they heard, and soon faith arose in their hearts. By using the power of God, the sufferers acted rightly, and then the blind were healed, the paralytics walked, and all kinds of evil were resolved by faith in action!

Some declared that no one had ever spoken like Jesus (John 7:46). Many saw demons manifest and leave when rebuked. Thus, those who believed in Christ were healed. Everyplace, the comment was the same: they had never seen anything like it before. Others criticized Him for not being submissive to the priests, who, according to them, were the authorities left by God. However, the Savior knew what He was doing!

Christ began His ministry without causing much fuss, but, in a short time, wherever He entered and prayed for people, they cried tears of joy for having been healed by Him. A large crowd followed Him, and this was remarkable and further reinforced that this work was guided by the Most High. Signs and wonders can still occur today!
