All the time, the devil sent his temptations against our Savior, and they were always unsuccessful. As the period of fasting and consecration of Jesus was coming to an end, and He had not fallen into any trap set by the enemy, the devil himself went to the Lord to tempt Him, thinking he could catch Him in some slip. Now, Christ is perfect and has the divine anointing to not fall into temptation.

There are servants of the Lord who succumb to the devil's schemes and are used to bring down those weak in faith. We even feel pity for them when they sin. Such traps are like whispers sent to those who are not right with God. The ideal is to never fall for the devil's flattery, as the consequences can lead the unwary to the lake of fire and brimstone, if they do not firmly stand again on the Rock of salvation.

It is likely that Hell was eagerly waiting to see their master manage to deceive Jesus, just as he deceives people. For the forces of darkness, the lie would never fail, which is why the devil said to the One who was hungry: “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” Now, if Christ had accepted the suggestion of evil, He would have been demoralized forever. Imagine the Son of God yielding to

the adversary!

Perhaps there was a deathly silence in Hell after Satan's defeat. If the Master had fallen, the devil would claim the same as he did in the fall of Adam, and the salvation provided by the King of kings for humanity would not be realized. However, regardless of any hypothesis, Christ would not fail, because He knew the reason behind such a "suggestion" from the devil; he would already be ashamed of his frustrated temptation of the Son of God.

There are Christians who are going against the Truth, accepting the suggestion to commit adultery, for example. They think that if in the past a man could have as many wives as he wanted, the Lord would reconsider the strictness of His Law, and anyone who fell would come out unscathed. Complete deception! (1 Corinthians 6:9,10). It is lamentable to see children of God leaning toward this sad side of life. If you feel the temptation in that direction, rebuke the enemy (James 4:7).

Just because the king of evil quoted Scripture to the Savior, would he change his nature and be considered good? Well, in his rebellion against God, Satan transformed into a monster and will never have reverted his evil side. It is an absurd idea to believe that he will ever be good. He himself decided what he would become when he started the rebellion in Heaven. There will never be a reversal for the enemy!

Whoever declares that the enemy will change one day is lying without the slightest knowledge of what the Holy Scriptures say. For the devil and his demons, the lake of fire and brimstone is reserved (Revelation 20:10). Unfortunately, those who trust in Satan and do not repent still believe that there will be a way for them to be recovered. Forget that lie from the kingdom of darkness and be vigilant!
