For I have set My face against this city for adversity and not for good, says the Lord. It shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
Jeremiah 21.10
God was extremely hurt by the people of Judah, especially the authorities who gave in to temptation, dishonoring the Word. Choosing evil paths brought consequences for that city: the Lord set His face against Jerusalem, the city of the great King, Jesus. They knew that God had handed over the northern kingdom to Assyria, which destroyed the people once freed from captivity. This does not please God.
Many who were considered saved were led astray by lust and then adultery. Their end will be terrible, as the Lord has said: But the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8.12). Whoever plays with the devil becomes his friend and will spend eternity in eternal torment. In 1 Corinthians 6:10, you can see a list of the ten groups that will keep Satan company!
So-called Christians who live in error or support those who do should prepare themselves, because the Judge of eternity is serious, uncontaminable and invincible. Why don't some persevere to the end? Do they consider the Almighty to be weak and a liar? The Scriptures declare: Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass. (Joshua 21:45). No divine declaration will fail at the Judgment!
The Lord used an apostle to amend this understanding, saying: It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10.31). No one can snatch the saved out of God's hands, as Jesus said: My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand” (John 10.29). However, some are exchanging the protection of the eternal God for immorality (1 Corinthians 6:13).
In Jeremiah's day, there was tremendous perversion among the prophets and priests. In the face of this, God pronounced judgment: Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; they also strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns back from his wickedness. All of them are like Sodom to Me, and her inhabitants like Gomorrah (Jeremiah 23:14). They have been equated with the Sodomites. Mercy!
The adulterer, or anyone who commits another sin, should customize the verse in this message to see what will happen to them if they don't repent and return home, where they should never have left: For I have set my face against [you] for evil and not for good, says the LORD; into the hand of the king of [Hell] you shall be delivered, and he [will] burn [you] with [eternal] fire. Repent now!
Zedekiah and his brothers didn't repent. As a result, they spent 70 years in Babylonian captivity, as the Lord had said (2 Kings 25). What God says in His Word will come to pass and He doesn't want to see you outside the plan of salvation. It's time to pray, repent, confess your sins to Jesus and believe in divine forgiveness.
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
Merciful God! I cry out for those who have felt the weight of Your Word to turn to You, because they cannot remain in the hands of the devil. We cry out for Your help and patience with this saved person who has been led astray by the enemy's lie.
Why walk into perdition when it is possible to follow at Your side, free from the evils of the world? May there not be another Judas in Your work. That way, the devil won't take pleasure in putting an end to the happiness of those You call!
Father, turn Your face towards those who have failed to guard themselves. Deep calls unto deep, and if they fall into it, they will be unrecognizable. He had been walking with You for a while, but the world lured him in and the devil seduced him, taking him by the cunning of the kingdom of evil. Lord, save this person!
