Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

Mark 10.52

Jesus spoke about the decision of two or more people to come together to seek His presence, stating that He would be in their midst (Matthew 18:20). This is deeper than we might think; after all, the same works He did need to be done in this generation (John 14:12). Everything happens by faith, which is generated in us when we listen to the Word of God (John 15:5; Rom 10:17). However, we cannot confuse the revelation of Scripture with religious precepts created by men considered “holy.”

To gather in the Name of Jesus, it is necessary that two or more people have accepted Him as Savior and Lord, gone through the process of conversion, and been baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit, the seal of the work of salvation (Ephesians 1:13), as the Bible says: Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2.38). Heaven is the limit!

Notice that Bartimaeus proved to be wiser than the people who followed the Master to Jericho, for he was the only one healed. The same was true of the woman with the issue of blood, who, dodging through the crowd, approached Christ, touched His clothes, and was healed of the evil that had consumed her for 12 years (Mark 5:24-34). Those who do what they have learned in the Word, through which God created all things, act as He likes!

When Jesus heard Bartimaeus' answer to the question, “What do you want Me to do for you?” (Mark 10.51), He only needed to declare him healed of his blindness. Note that everything in the spiritual world is done using words, as long as they come from or are based on the Scriptures. Now, how can anyone who does not read the Bible act like Christ, if He Himself said, “I can do nothing on My own. As I hear, I judge, and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me” (John 5:30)?

If Christ, the Word made flesh and Creator of all things (John 1:1, 14), could not act on His own, can anyone do anything if they are not given direction from Heaven? Of course, first that person needs to receive faith through the Word in order to have the heavenly “fuel” that will give them the power to perform the same works as Jesus (John 14:12). It is necessary to teach people that the dogmas of the churches have no value in enabling them to do what the Lord taught us. Believe and do!

Seeing Bartimaeus' wisdom, the Master said, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” (Mark 10.52b) This can be understood as, "Continue in this faith. You are prepared to live God's best, for your declaration has done the necessary works. Your deliverance has come, and your problems are over." Christ encouraged him to continue as a victor and will do the same for you. Your time to be blessed has come, so open your heart, pray, and believe that you are being heard by God!

Bartimaeus heard about Jesus, believed in Him as Savior and Lord, and proved wise enough to never abandon the One who opened his eyes, gave him salvation, and would make him a blessing to those who heard about his encounter with the King of kings and Lord of lords. Bartimaeus followed Jesus as he should: along the way. Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). And you, what have you done with the revelations given to you?

       In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer

Our Lord! We must remember that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We cannot be people who receive the desired blessing and abandon You, but rather wise men who will live by Your side on Earth and, after death, remain with You in Heaven!

You told Bartimaeus to move forward and continue observing Your Word, to go further and make a difference among people. This spoke strongly to our hearts. We need Your presence within us, to be filled with Your Spirit, and to follow Your teachings!

We want to follow Your path, go wherever You send us, and do what You desire, but to do so, our hearts must be cleansed, for we have sinned in our thoughts, words, and deeds. We repent and ask for Your forgiveness. God, transform us!
