Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness

1 John 3:4

The apostle John warned that whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. Therefore, whoever betrays their spouse becomes unrighteous, because they did not respect their other half or their neighbor, and will pay dearly for such wickedness. Now, no one gets into this kind of situation for no reason. Before sinning, the person resisted the voice of God warning them about the pain and harm they would cause themselves and others. If they do not repent, they must prepare to go before the judgment seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10), where the real reason for their wickedness will be exposed.

To be unrighteous means not to treat your neighbor as you would like to be treated. The Word of God says: He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8). Temptation itself does not mean that you have sinned; after all, Jesus was tempted in every way and yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). Flee from temptation!

The adulterer is unrighteous because he acts without thinking about the pain that the betrayed person will feel, who has no part in his infidelity. Society is so evil that it gives a pejorative nickname to those who have been betrayed and praises the betrayer. The whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one (1 John 5:19b), so it encourages betrayers and mocks those who have been innocently stabbed in the back. Why would anyone allow themselves to be dominated by evil spirits when they should remain faithful? Be vigilant!

If you, who are reading this message, betray your spouse, meditate on what you will say to the Lord on Judgment Day. God will not need to prove what you have done, for when He looks into your eyes, you will feel such remorse that you will confess in detail what you now deny and hide. Why go to Christ's judgment seat if you have the chance to confess your sins, be forgiven, and be freed from eternal punishment? Do you truly care about yourself?

Many people suffer attacks from Hell because they have not embraced the Truth and cannot resist the devil's assaults. Why wait for more suffering when you can follow the Master's guidance? He says that when you know the Truth, you are set free (John 8:32). So, acknowledge your mistake and get out of the devil's prison. Putting off your decision for Christ is postponing your freedom.

Those who despise the Master's guidance will not feel free on the day of Christ's judgment, because they refused to obey His instructions: When you go with your adversary to the magistrate, make every effort along the way to settle with him, lest he drag you to the judge, the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison (Luke 12:58). It is honorable for those who have sinned to confess what they have done to the one they have betrayed!

All iniquity leads a person to separate themselves from God. No matter how hard they try, they cannot see their prayers reaching the Lord and bringing the peace, healing, and forgiveness they so desperately need. God expects you to honor Him by getting rid of the iniquity that, if not abandoned, will lead you to the lake of fire and brimstone. Your clock warns you that you are late to receive forgiveness. Pray now and confess your sins!

Today's Prayer

God of blessing! We cannot remain silent when we understand that our sins prove that we have allowed ourselves to be dominated by the spirit of error. We need to confess them to You to receive forgiveness!

We cannot live with transgressions hidden in our hearts, knowing that the offended or betrayed person may feel discomfort when looking at us. You are our Father! Help us make things right with those we have harmed!

We want to smile again before You, without hiding behind foliage, as Adam did. We are Your children and we need to be clean in Your presence. You are our Defense against the accusations of the evil one. We need You, O Father!
