The work completed by Jesus with His death on the cross, the occasion when He descended into Hell, was in favor of those who come to Him to receive the salvation of their souls, the healing of their bodies, and the deliverance from the punishment that man would have to suffer for disobeying God. All these blessings are within the New Covenant established by Christ with the Father, by shedding His blood, in order to bring His people home (Luke 22:20). Today, the saved are in the hands of God, from which they can never be snatched away (John 10:27-29). Salvation is real and eternal!

        The Son of God went to the place where the devil had his headquarters and defeated him along with his cursed princes. It was a decisive moment, for with his head crushed by Jesus, the king of evil did not know what to do to maintain the power he had stolen from Adam. Paul said that the Lord stripped the evil one of the authority with which he oppressed humanity: Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2.15).

       After this great act, some say that the Savior made a parade before the angelic authorities who serve Him. Satan was put forward and, along with his demons, claimed to be defeated. For many, this is new, as they have not been taught the Truth that sets anyone free at the moment they surrender to Jesus. We must show the Word to everyone, so that they can participate in the Redeemer's victory in His death and resurrection!

       The end of the base verse is beautiful, for it declares that, after having defeated the infernal beings, Christ passed safely by the way that he had not gone with his feet. The Savior is perfect and operates in all situations as the Victor over the enemy's schemes. This is what He came to do on Earth: For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3.8b). The works of the devil are undone!

      Being the God who was, is, and will be forever (Hebrews 13:8), He knew the paths created on Earth, but His feet had not yet trodden the place of torment when He alone deposed Satan and his army from the power to oppress us (Revelation 1:8). Jesus would never get lost, because He is the Light that illuminates those who receive Him as Savior and Lord (John 8:12). All the Master's works are intended to reclaim the lost for Himself.

       I am convinced that, in Heaven, we will know what Jesus did to give us eternal life and free us from the actions of the kingdom of darkness. He spared no effort to bring down the unclean spirits that tried to hide and walked with the necessary confidence on the path He had created since the foundation of the world. The important thing is to know that He dethroned the demons.

      When you are used by the Master, do not try to understand the path you will have to take to achieve victory against the evil forces. God will go with you to confirm the defeat that the enemy has already suffered in his own house. Today, we are the victors of the battles of faith (Romans 8:31-39). Therefore, never let the tempter oppress you or hide from you. Jesus has already taken away his power!
