Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

John 7.16

If we have been commanded to perform the same deeds as Jesus (John 14:12), we must follow the doctrine that was taught by Him, but was not His, but that of the Father who sent Him. The Lord has called us to fulfill His purpose, using His powerful Name, but this will only happen if we preach the message of Christ, which enables people to experience God's operations.

Those who don't pay attention to the Master's ministry and talk about who founded a church are mistaken. It’s true that a leader cannot base his doctrine on what he thinks is right, but on the Scriptures. The Bible states: The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple (Psalm 119.130). The preacher must ask the Most-High for the gift of exposing the Word; in this way, everyone will understand what God is saying and receive what they need from His hands. It is necessary to forget the “dead” of faith, because the Lord is God of the living (Luke 20:38).

Each servant of the Most High has a way of teaching so that his congregation is blessed, and this even depends on the culture of the sheep. The way of doing the work in the past undoubtedly came from the heavenly Father, but it was for those days. Within that way of believing, there was the same essence that exists today in every Christian called to serve at any time. Your way of ministering cannot be accepted as unique!

God designed everything and prepared His Son to fully fulfill His will. Jesus is the perfect Example! He didn't lack wisdom and the other attributes to succeed in His work. Now, as for the things that only the Father knew, Christ declared: But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father alone (Matthew 24.36). If even He had limits when He was on earth, how much more so do we mere humans!

Take the following illustration: an aircraft manufacturer creates a new model, examines the design thoroughly and publishes a service and operations manual, showing the limits of use of the aircraft, such as: speed limitation, height, the type of fuel to be used and other precautions to be taken by the pilots. Now, what happens if someone who has bought one of these marvels uses another fuel and exceeds the recommended flight height? If the plane crashes, it will be solely their fault.

Compared to the spiritual world, we can't depart from the Master's doctrine, because He Himself guaranteed that it came directly from the Father. Anyone with common sense will never transgress the Word, but will respect it and behave within the rules. Some citizen says it's necessary to update the Bible, but the Scriptures exhort: whoever adds to it or subtracts from it will suffer harsh consequences (Revelation 22:18,19). Does this person know this?

We have to act according to God's testimony, checking what others have already felt from the Lord. We are warned that the devil can transform himself into an angel of light - understanding (2 Corinthians 11.14). The evil one tempted Jesus to command the stone to become bread, to throw Himself from the pinnacle of the temple and to worship him (Matthew 4.3-11). Christ's response is a lesson for us. Believe!

Today's Prayer

God of sound doctrine! We hear people preaching the updating of the Bible, saying that there were specific sins for ancient times and today everything has been liberated. So, depending on the couple's agreement, there's no problem. Save those who have strayed from You!

In the last times, many will not put up with sound doctrine and will elect wise men, and fools at the same time, who will deny You. We praise Your name for what You do for us and for the fear in our hearts. We want to persevere to the end!

Look at Your faithful servants, who don't give the enemy and his demons a chance to get into their lives. We are Your people, who love and serve You, so we ask You to keep us until the end as You promised. We are grateful, Lord!
