And the Lord appeared to him the same night and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for My servant Abraham’s sake”
Genesis 26.24
When he lived among the Philistines, Isaac faced the usurpation of their water wells, and this happened to satisfy the interest of Abimelech (this was the name given to the Philistine kings, like the name Pharaoh was given to the Egyptian kings). Just as it happened with Abraham, the Abimelech of Isaac's day - who lived and reigned almost a hundred years after Abraham's contemporary and wanted to take Sarah for himself - was also interested in Rebekah, Isaac's wife, but, like his predecessor, didn't touch her (read Genesis, chapters 20 and 26).
The Bible recounts several incidents in the drilling of these wells. Sometimes, when they thought these cisterns would serve their king, the Philistines took them from Isaac. The gift of this servant of God in knowing where he could find water made him successful in this trade. He even proved to be very patient, for he would leave the well that had been taken and open another, until the Philistines left all that was his in his hand. Jacob once spoke to his father-in-law about fearing his father's God (Genesis 31.42).
Our faith in Christ and obedience to God and the commandments were passed on to us by the patriarch Isaac. That's why it's good to study his acts and imitate them, because they will do us great good. An example of this was the fact that he prayed for Rebekah for 20 years so that God would open her womb (Genesis 25.21). She would have a son for the Savior's promise to be fulfilled almost two thousand years later. From this, we can see that the struggle for Jesus' birth was a great example for us. Through Christ we are saved!
What happens in the world was already foreseen, and we came into being exactly according to God's plan. That's why we have to know the Lord's will and fulfill it. What must sustain us begins with what the triune God said to Isaac: I am the God of your father Abraham. This declaration is meant for us today. By faith, we are his descendants and we have an obligation to pass on the message to as many as the Most High calls (Galatians 3.6-9; Acts 2.39).
The Most High is the God of our fathers, who bowed to His Word in order to have the salvation provided by Jesus. The Gospel grows as the saved serve the Father, as the Scriptures instruct. Believe me: religious fads will never fit in with the Word, which says: This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 4.6).
God told Isaac that he was with him. In the same way, He is with us. What more do we need? Only to believe in the Lord and use His wisdom. If we have to face the sufferings of our brothers and sisters from the past, we will. In fact, the important thing is to snatch many from eternal death (Jude 1.23). A life snatched from perdition will reflect God's mercy towards us, and our reward will be tremendous (Luke 15.7,10)!
The Lord has promised to bless us and take care of us. In this way, we shouldn't despair with the trials, persecutions and struggles we will face, because all of this will be turned into blessings for us (Romans 8.18). The seed will be multiplied by God's love for Abraham!
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
God, Beloved of our soul! Thank You for the plan of salvation, when we were far from Your ways. Your immense grace has been poured out on us. We have nothing to complain about, but much to be thankful for. We are Your servants in these days of glory!
Knowing that You are with us is a blessing. Even if hell tries to separate us from Your love, it is impossible. We are bound to You by the Covenant made in the blood of Jesus and we enjoy Your promises, which fill our hearts with glory!
You will bless us and multiply our seed for Abraham’s sake, our father in faith. You said that when we pass through the waters, they will not submerge us. Is there anything better than that? Let the struggles come, for we will never leave You or deny You!
