Therefore Herodias held it against him and wanted to kill him, but she could not;
Mark 6:19
There are three recorded facts about Herodias, the wife of Herod's brother, who later also became the king's wife. There are matters that we will only know when we are with the Lord in Heaven. The Bible says that Herodias kept her eyes on John the Baptist, because the man of God pointed out the unlawfulness of her relationship with her brother-in-law, and this tormented her soul, causing her to think about killing him.
The Lord's servants must live in communion with Him. Thus, any attack against their lives will fail. As Herodias allowed herself to be consumed by hatred for the preacher of the deserts, she only waited for a good opportunity to get rid of the one who wanted to show her the right conduct. She herself could have enjoyed eternal life, but if she did not repent later, she will never rest in eternity!
We do not know how many people have hated us and spoken ill of us simply because we want to do good for everyone. It is good to always have a heart cleansed of any sin, so that we may feel the protection of the Most High over our lives. Being saved, we must believe and confess the following promise: “No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.” Psalm 91:10. Claim this assurance!
Herodias felt offended in her “right” to live with whomever she desired. However, God, who is love, sent John to warn her that she and Herod should never be together and, furthermore, that they would be lost forever. Because He deeply loves us, the heavenly Father instructs us not to transgress. He does not want anyone to perish, for whoever remains in sin will be sent to the lake of fire and brimstone, the second death, which will be irreversible.
She watched John and perhaps even sought out some people to eliminate him. However, when they discovered who the victim would be, they refused the task. The Lord protects those who love Him, loving them to the very end. The Almighty keeps His attention on His children day and night, preventing anything from happening to them. However, some will glorify Him through deaths whose reasons only He Himself will be able to reveal to us. God is our good Father!
The Holy Scriptures state that Herodias wanted to kill John, but she could not. She should have paid attention to the prophet's message, repented, and sought out the servant of God to ask his forgiveness. But unfortunately, because she was under evil influence, she plunged into dense darkness. Do not be insensitive to the Lord's work, for He desires to rescue you from eternal perdition. God wants you in Heaven with Him.
Never fear the person who plans to harm you; instead, intercede for them (Matthew 5:44). Intercession is the most powerful weapon when used in favor of those who hate us (Romans 12:14,17–21). The story of John the Baptist reveals that Herodias, by herself, could not fulfill her desires against him. God is always faithful. Obey His voice in your heart and rest in Him until the end. The Lord truly loves you. Believe it!

Today's Prayer
Lord, who guarantees us! Whoever loves You must expect Your love to protect them from all evil. It is impossible for the enemy to silence the voice of those who have the anointing to do something special for Your work!
How comforting it is to know that evil plans will fail and that we will have more and more of You as we intercede for the people who hate us because we belong to You! Let them spy on us, for they will see that we are Your friends!
Our life will only be taken if it is within Your plan. It is good to live in a way that pleases You! In this way, the enemy will not be able to touch us. We live in Your loving arms. Father, if someone breathes hatred against us, give love to that person!
