IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO QUENCH LOVE

Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised

Song of Solomon 8:7

Our love for Jesus must be infinitely greater than the love we have for our spouse, our children, or anyone else. That love is too holy to be lost. It is through this love that we please the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Loving God means having the commandments in our hearts and fulfilling them (John 14:21). This is much more significant than working to give our family the best of this world. Examine yourself and see if you have loved the Lord like this!

Why did David not lose a single battle? Because he loved the Most High with all his heart (Psalm 18:1). The people who lived under the influence of Samuel’s ministry learned to love God as they should, because the prophet also loved Him. Now, tell me: those who are under your ministry, or that of someone you know, are they also taught to love the Lord? Or have they noticed that you were interested in something that was not yours? Don’t miss your chance to do good!

Even if Hell sets a trap for you to make you sin and stray from the Path, resist, for God will be by your side to give you victory. Now, if you fall into the evil snare, the devil will win the battle. This is very serious! This warning should never be disregarded. Do not exchange the abundant life brought by Jesus for the suggestions of the adversary (John 10:10).

Never give in to temptations, for it is written that many waters will never quench the love that unites you to the Lord. Even if the temptations were like the rushing waters of the largest rivers on the planet, they would not drown the wonderful gift of loving the Lord Jesus. Reject the devil’s offers and believe in Christ, without doubting or yielding an inch. God is with you!

Satan tried to make Jesus sin when He had fasted for 40 days in the desert: Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” (Matthew 4:3). Jesus needed to eat after the fast, but He did not accept the enemy’s suggestion and replied: But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (v. 4).

Then the devil took Jesus to the Holy City, to the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.’” (Matthew 4:6). Once again, the Savior confronted him: Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’” (v. 7). Great Master!

Finally, the enemy made his last proposal, which he deemed irresistible: Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” (Matthew 4:8-10). How foolish the devil is! Jesus, being faithful unto death, would receive from the Father much more than the crumb proposed by Satan.

In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer

Faithful God! You deliver us from temptations. How dare the devil tempt Him who could not fall for his lies? Christ resisted by quoting Your Word, which affirms that we must live by what comes out of Your mouth!

The enemy also took the Master to the pinnacle of the temple and quoted the biblical passage to make Him fall, but it was the evil one who fell. May all be firm in faith in You, so that, like Jesus, they may not succumb to temptations!

Finally, the liar showed Christ the riches and glory of the kingdoms of the earth, and Jesus resisted him by quoting the Scriptures. The devil said he would give Him everything if He would fall down and worship him. Then, Your Son, using the Word, overcame the tempter!
