I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.

John 16.28

Before God began creation, His Son, His Word, already existed. Jesus was responsible for creating all things, and this proves that he was God and continues to be with the Father: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made (John 1.1-3). The Messiah came forth from the Father to enter our world!

During the three and a half years of His earthly ministry, Christ showed us how to do God's work. His teachings are complete and give us the wisdom and understanding needed to carry out God's will. His instructions are very important and easy to learn, but it is necessary to have the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Bible mentions that the things of the Spirit are discerned spiritually and not with the intellect (1 Corinthians 2.14). Divine work!

The Savior's departure from the Kingdom of Heaven is portrayed in the Word as his annihilation: but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men (Philippians 2.7). Jesus stripped Himself of His divine prerogatives and came into the world as a human being. His coming was to show us that we must be overcomers in everything. The grace He brought gives us this condition. Believe it!

Before descending into Hell to finish the work of salvation, Christ was forsaken by the Father. Seeing Him become sin because of our iniquities, God turned His back on the Son, who exclaimed: “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27.46b). When He died physically, the Redeemer descended into darkness alone, not even an angel was with Him (Isaiah 63:1-6).

Jesus came to do the complete work. By receiving our sins and sufferings on the cross, He experienced spiritual death - separation from the Father - the same thing that happened to Adam after he sinned. Then the Messiah fought the devil and stripped him of the strength he had stolen from Adam. After that, the Spirit of God descended into Hell and made Jesus alive, just as He did with all humanity (Ephesians 2.1,5,10). The work was finished!

Here, the Son of God was anointed to preach the Good News. The same anointing and glory that was upon Him also falls upon us: But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1.8). We will only do the work well if we believe in the Word of the Lord. Be awakened so that you can be used in the same way Christ was (John 14:12).

After giving His last instructions to His disciples, Jesus left the world and returned to His Father. The day will come when the Most High will send His beloved Son again to rapture His Church: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only (Matthew 24.36). Prepare for that Day by doing the work He has determined!

Today's Prayer

God of all and everything! How can we open people’s eyes if we do not have the knowledge of the Truth as Jesus did? We ask You for the understanding of Your revelations so that we can carry out the work as the Savior did in His days. Help us!

He came from You to come to the world to save us. While He was here, You gave mankind an example of how to obey You. Many accept deception, creating religions that Your heart did not conceive, and with them, they distance people from salvation.

Jesus returned to You, and You seated Him at Your right hand, giving Him all the power to use us. However, we do not obey Him as we should. Father, we need Your help so that the lost may be converted. Open our eyes so that we may proclaim the Gospel of peace!
