And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them

John 17.10

This statement by Jesus is fantastic! The Savior showed how He is glorified in Heaven. This serves as an example for those who are called to be saved and who respond to Him, becoming blessed servants of the Lord. By meditating on this statement, the ability to use what the Father and the Son have is granted to us. We will do the same works that Jesus did (John 14:12), through the One who possesses the entire Universe. We are members of His Body!

We can have everything from God as long as He has everything from us. The more we give ourselves to the Lord, the more He gives Himself to us. Jesus said: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me (John 17.23). Everything about God concerns us, so let's allow Him to shape us into His image and likeness.

The apostle Paul was used by the Holy Spirit to increase our knowledge, talking about what there is in the world as a possibility for us to be used by the Lord to do good to all: Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3.21). Praise should always be given to the Lord, who has endowed His servants with the ability to do good to others, give them joy and help them live better lives, putting an end to their suffering.

How good it would be if we lived free from any thoughts like: “That's mine, and God can't get His hands on it”. If we understand that we can be one with God, we will understand that what is ours also belongs to Him, and vice versa. Therefore, in order to have full communion with the Father, He teaches us the need to prioritize His Kingdom: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6.33).

The Bible states that all things belong to us: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come—all are yours.  (1 Corinthians 3.22). Another teaching says that those who serve the Lord generously prosper, but those who limit themselves will take the wrong road: Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6.38).

God created the seed, placed it in nature and said: But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully (2 Corinthians 9.6). Many give greedily, giving the smallest amount to God's work, but they choose the best for themselves and their loved ones. They don't seem to love the One who will take them to live in Heaven.

How much does the Lord charge for the seed planted by man, which will produce others equal to thirty, sixty and a hundred to one (Matthew 13)? Nothing. However, many times, the child of God doesn't remember the needs of God's harvest and doesn't tithe in order to have food in His house (Malachi 3:10). How many times do we fail to evangelize in new fields for lack of resources? Pray and believe!

Today's Prayer

Lord, Owner of all! We want to attain the position expressed by Jesus when He said that everything He had belonged to You, but we are selfish and do not recognize You as the Creator and Lord of everything that comes into our hands. We are grateful that You love us so much!

How can we say that we love You if we selfishly consider even our last cents, without showing the generosity to share with those who have nothing? We need to be like Jesus, the Blesser.

The Savior claims that what is also His is Yours and feels glorified in this. There is nothing better than following the example set by Christ. So, grant us the kind of faith that dwells in the Son, only then will we please You!
