Worship of the Lord continued to be carried out in Jerusalem, but no one experienced the fullness of God, for Jesus had not yet been born. At that time, the Law was the way for people to reach the Most High, but since it was impossible to fulfill it in its entirety, nothing could be expected of them. A thousand years earlier, David was used to compose the Psalm in which he asked: Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? (Psalm 15.1).

After the coming of Christ, the people came to understand that dwelling in God's house is reserved for the saved. Some assumed that, because they were descendants of Abraham, nothing would keep them from the divine plan. Regarding this, Jesus declared: and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.  (Matthew 3.9). Only those who receive the Savior will be saved!

Without understanding how to live with the Lord here on Earth, many came up with theories and spread them. As a result, in a short time, they swore to be heirs to Abraham's promises because they were descended from him in the natural realm. The prophet Jeremiah spoke about this: Though they say, ‘As the Lord lives,’ surely they swear falsely.” (Jeremiah 5.2).

Examining the Scriptures, we find that many have no regard for them, because they believe they have more knowledge than those who are born again. These are truly saved and will pass from death to life without undergoing judgment. The Master said to the Samaritan woman: God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4.24).

The Hebrews swore by Jerusalem and even took the name of the holy city to confirm what they said, but this action was ineffective. Someone can swear by the people who do the Lord's work, but this statement carries no weight. Anyone who twists something from the Bible is irresponsible. The worst thing is that, by acting in this way, they lead the weak to practice aberrations. The Lord honors only those who honor Him (Romans 13:7)!

Others relied on the God of Israel, pledging their word so that others would trust them, but their statements were also irrelevant. God does not sell His blessings nor does He accept clichés about Him to support the lies created about Him, as well as the many errors taught by some. Our word should be yes, yes; no, no (Matthew 5:37). When everyone believes in the Bible, they will be successful!

In those days, one of God's names was Lord of Hosts. However, even using it, they would not cast out any demons. Those who walk in communion with the Father use the name of Jesus to heal the sick, free those possessed by evil spirits, and preach the Gospel, which brings repentance to the lost and causes them to receive and witness salvation.
