Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil.
Proverbs 4.27
There is only one way to Heaven: Jesus, as He Himself revealed. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6). Anyone who misinterprets a revelation of the Bible, denying it or adding to it, walks off the only Way that leads to the father. The Lord doesn't say that He will fight with anyone who doesn't believe in Him, but he warns that any decision to reject the Truth means giving in to the lie - the devil.
When nothing had been created in the world, the Son coexisted with the Father. The Holy Scriptures mention the Messiah: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1.1). At every command of the Father, the Son fulfilled it: All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made (John 1.3). Jesus is one of the persons of the Holy Trinity and the one responsible for creation.
We have one goal in life: to look to the Savior in order to be blessed and able to overcome everything that comes against us. Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2). Whoever turns to the right or to the left will never receive a blessing, but will be frustrated in life.
The Galatians were taught by Paul to serve Christ according to biblical precepts. They were doing well, but soon false doctrines arose, and the apostle sent a letter that serves all of us who are on the Lord's path. It says: “You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?” (Galatians 5:7). Those people strayed from life and peace in God, letting themselves be led astray by those who had no fear of God. Persevere until death!
Being a student at the apostle Paul's school did tremendous good for those who felt God's call to ministry in their hearts. Among those who had this privilege was Demas. Paul mentioned this lucky man who, when he was tested, allowed himself to be carried away by the world. The apostle said: “For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed to Thessalonica - Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia” (2 Timothy 4:10). Do the work!
Sooner or later, we will be tested and, if we lean to the right or to the left, we will take our focus off God's plan. In this way, we will not be looking to the Lord, but to the enemy, who has already begun to overcome us. Jesus declared: These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world (John 16:33). Look to the Savior!
Finally, the apostle said that we should take our foot off evil, referring to the bad thoughts to be discarded immediately. When we listen to the servants of the enemy, we will suffer afflictions, because everything that comes from the devil kills, steals and destroys (Jn 10:10). Be firm in your faith in Christ!

Today's Prayer
God, our Target! We want to focus on You, so that we don't become corrupted by practices that can change our character. That's why we will never let ourselves be led astray by evil, but will look to You, the Author and Finisher of our faith!
The command is never to turn to the right nor to the left, but to keep our attention on You, Father. You know how to lead us to success, and the enemy also knows that he can't touch us if we don't bow down to him.
We must take our foot off evil, because sooner or later You will put the head of hell under our feet. It is good to be Your servant, to live in Your grace and to do Your will. Use us, God, according to Your purpose. You bought us with Your blood!
