Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.
Ephesians 2.20
Knowing the characteristics of each apostle will do tremendous good for the church we lead and for our lives. Each of them served God according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, but one also served the devil and, for this reason, committed suicide (John 13:2; Matthew 27:5). Beware of the enemy! He will tempt you to do what the Scriptures condemn. Be warned never to give in to evil snares and not to become corrupted. Never imitate Solomon's attitudes in the days of his old age (1 Kings 11:1–7).
If those called to lay the foundations are overcome by greed, they will be like Judas Iscariot, who was a terrible example to the other disciples. The latter showed themselves to be faithful in fearing the Lord, bearing good witness. That's why they should be imitated in their good deeds, and that pleases the Father. We must be ready and willing to respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, who will speak to us if we are true servants. Believe, pray, and live!
Studying what the first apostles were like is very helpful for members of the Body of Christ, but the natural aspects of each of them had nothing to do with revelation from Heaven. What we need is what the Lord teaches about the foundation, the revelation found only in His Word. What is told in history may be authentic, but it does not serve to guide the Church.
No one can create a doctrine based on their own understanding; however, if it is enlightened by the Lord, it will be a blessing for all. Whoever is called to be an apostle must prepare for this ministry, according to the revelation given to them for the good of the work. If everything comes from God, he will be useful in the divine harvest. Blessed are those who turn away from sin and draw near to the Almighty in order to be directed. This pleases the Lord very much.
When the time is right, Heaven will let us know the meaning and purpose of the Most High, according to what is written in the Bible. He sends our hearts the directions to resolve the issues that bother us. When you are facing difficulties, turn to God in prayer and ask Him to speak to you through the Word. Then open the Bible and read it slowly, meditating on its statements. Then you will realize that the exact answer has already come. Follow the Lord without deviating.
Never forget that Jesus, the Word of God, became flesh to free men from the empire of darkness. Christ is the cornerstone that guides the course of the edification and preservation of His Church, as He said: And I also say to you that, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16.18). The apostle Peter was only a human being, but the revelation given to him would build Christ's Church.
What Jesus revealed and did on earth is the foundation stone, but what the prophets and the other writers of the Bible said also helps to build His Body, whose origin is in the eternal Word, who became flesh (John 1.1-14). Only to Him do we give our worship and praise. The Lord has saved us and anointed us to continue doing His work!
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
God, Builder of the Church! It is good to know that You raise up Your work, leading the saved to submit first to You and then, in Your love, to the leadership established in the churches that serve You. Make us blessings in Your hands!
Thank you for including us in Your Body! This is a privilege for us, and for it we thank You. Our life is all about doing what Jesus has determined, and we rejoice in that. It's wonderful to see the lost finding the Lord Jesus!
We must fulfill Your mandate with wisdom and gratitude. Even if we don't have complete salvation, we will receive it at Your return, when our bodies will be glorified. We are satisfied with Your goodness and faithfulness!
