Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

Psalm 119.24

Knowing that we would not be able to understand whether something is good or bad, the Creator has made Himself available to us so that we can learn how to proceed in the face of any proposal. For our sake, God will speak to us through His Word, showing us right from wrong, which is why we need His testimonies. When faced with any problem, all we have to do is pray to Him and wait for the right direction to be made clear before us.

Over time, we will come to the same conclusion as the psalmist who said that the testimonies of the Most High were his delight. However, if we walk in the flesh, we won't ask for God's guidance. Those who never receive the testimony of the Most High are those who don't listen to Him. On the other hand, those who are rewarded with divine revelation speak like the author of this Psalm: they delight in obtaining the confirmations of the Word.

The person who accepts Jesus as Savior and Lord is within God's plan to be guided in His Word. Look at how the Master answered the disciples when they asked Him about teaching the people in parables: He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given (Matthew 13.11). We cannot do without this blessing; after all, each revelation increases our power of decision.

The Scriptures contain one of King David's beautiful declarations of his love for God: I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. (Psalm 9.2). Many brothers and sisters want to be answered by the Most High in their petitions, but they never say anything like the king of Israel, referring to the Lord. Now, nothing is by chance: he who shows that he loves God is also loved by Him!

To be loved by the Almighty means having and keeping the commandments contained in the Word. Jesus spoke about this: He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him” (John 14.21). Anyone who doesn't take pleasure in obeying God's precepts has sins to confess. Watch out!

Keep everything that God makes stand out to you when you read the Bible. That way, you'll enjoy the counsel sent by your heavenly Father. Then, as the days go by, you'll be happy to take a piece of paper to the services to write down important teachings. From one hour to the next, you'll be loved by the Lord, collecting victories in all the missions entrusted to you. God is faithful!

Our communion with someone is seen when we give something to them and receive something from them. Nothing will be lacking for those who keep the testimonies, which are commandments for Christians. Unfortunately, many don't even consider this; for them, it's as if God didn't exist. Seek from the Most High what He has prepared to give you. It's simple to have His love continually. Rejoice in the Lord! (Psalm 32:11)

Today's Prayer

O God! We are very happy to belong to You, to love Jesus and to be loved by You and by Him. We recognize that, most of the time, we don't even think about Your love, care and pleasure in having us as Your children. Father, give us Your testimony!

We like to hear that You love us, guard us and make us true servants, but we don't live up to it. That's why we sin against You all the time, but we don't want to live like that. Deliver us from the evil that makes us do wrong!

We will follow You faithfully and we will be grateful for Your counsels and touches that sound in our hearts. From today onwards, we will give You true praise, for we have been forgiven and set free!
