We can use this verse to help people overcome doubt and deception. Some were doing well with us, giving Jesus the glory He deserved as Savior, but because they listened to deceiving spirits, they went back to where they were before. As a result, they no longer dedicate themselves to seeking the Lord and live outside the standards that the Bible shows are proper for the saved. Two distinct groups need to return to their first love for their own good (Revelation 2.4-5).

It is sad to see individuals deluded by the evil one, far from the ways of the Most High, addicted to drugs and stimulants, instead of solving their problems with faith and the love of the Savior. Why do some give in to the enemy, when the Son of God has placed them under the care of His servants? Others look at how happy they used to be, but now they see themselves as the prodigal son, who left his Father's house, a place of plenty, love and eternal life (Luke 15:11-24).

The Holy Spirit cries out for the souls who have gone astray and left the sheepfold to go to rotten meat counters, alcoholic beverages and all kinds of perdition. Why have they distanced themselves from home? Why didn't they follow the Lord's testimonies? Away from home, they find only disappointment, and some are no longer even sure that they will be saved. It's time to rush back to the place where they learned the first letters of the alphabet of salvation.

Those who truly fear the Lord are not satisfied where His Spirit does not prevail. They know that the heavenly Father can work His wonders there. What's past is past; now it's time for God's flowers to bloom, to hear the songs of the birds and to see the renewal He has wrought in the lives of millions around the world (Song of Solomon 2.10-14). Why collect coins, despising the incomprehensible riches of Christ? (Romans 2.4). Whoever fears God will always be welcome in His flock.

Those who have been graced with the testimonies of the Most High live under the cloak of night, but are currently living poorly and feel far from the Truth, and even have family members far from the Father's house. If this is happening to you, run into the arms of the Good Shepherd, who has never forgotten you. There is nothing better than your decision to return to the Master's fold and get away from the deceptions of Hell.

Even if you are in the prime of your career, being appreciated by many, thriving like the world has never seen, but you feel in your heart that you have made the wrong decision, pray to the Lord, tell Him everything and ask for a sign that He is inviting you to return to the home of love and security. One day, we will stand before the judgment seat of Christ to answer for what we did with our call (2 Corinthians 5:10). Think, pray and decide with Jesus!

  Those who fear God and love His testimonies will only feel happy close to the Lord. Listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd calling you to repentance, like the prodigal and foolish son who wasted everything he received from his father. Your place is in the house where your faith began. One more thing: God hasn't given up on you. And you, have you given up on Him?
