And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain

Isaiah 4.6

The protection of Heaven is not only intended for spiritual problems, but also to safeguard God's people from natural phenomena, such as solar radiation or storms, which can cause great damage. When Jesus was on Earth, He once showed us one of the areas where divine power is at work: But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. (Matthew 8.26).

This feat by the Master made the fishermen, frightened by the storm, ask who this man was who, after speaking to the sea and the wind, made everything calm (v. 27). We were informed by the Savior that, because we believe in Him, we must also be prepared to follow His example: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. (John 14.12).

The cross left by Jesus for us to carry is true and harsh, but if we do not obey Him, we will certainly be held accountable for our negligence (Luke 9:23). The Lord will only accept what He said to the Father when He fulfilled His mission: I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.  (John 17.4). The only way to glorify God is to perform the same wonders that Christ performed in His earthly ministry.

Don't be afraid of global warming, for Isaiah revealed that there will be a tabernacle to provide shade from the heat of the day. Moses received the Word that comforted him and helped him lead the Israelites through the desert for 40 years, where water was not easily found. Now, the Most High found a way to renew the water in their bodies, to the point that they did not even miss the precious liquid. Now, this only happened when they sinned. Powerful is our God!

Likewise, the children of Israel planted and harvested nothing during those 40 years, but God gave them the bread of angels, the manna, which was like coriander seed (Exodus 16:31). This “seed” had the ability to feed and nourish them perfectly. However, they became sick when they sinned. This tabernacle will protect us from the heat of the day, for this is easy for the Lord, as long as we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). God is greater than your need!

The tabernacle already provided also serves as a refuge and shelter from the storm and rain. The devil will never make us suffer if we believe in the Scriptures and work for the Kingdom of Heaven. It is important that we be people of faith and not look back, but faithfully follow the biblical guidance. In the revelation of the Word, there is power to do what it tells us (Isaiah 55:11).

Christ's command must be obeyed without excuse: And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.  And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. (Matthew 10.1, 7 - 8). May God use you!

Today's Prayer

God and Father, our Commander! We need to believe in what You have done for us in the death and resurrection of Your Son. With that, we lack nothing to be Your instruments. Without a doubt, Your good and perfect patience has been the reason why we have not yet been rebuked for Your zeal!

We cannot believe that the mission has become impossible, when, in some nations, the door to the Gospel is closed and threats against the safety of Your servants are the reason why many do not glorify You. Deliver us from cowardice, fear and timidity!

We must be like the brothers in the biblical temples. David, for example, did not fear the wiles of the enemy, but fought with faith and fearlessness, always winning in battles. That is why he was called a man after Your own heart. May we learn to glorify You!
