Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are
John 17.11
In Gethsemane, Jesus presented Himself to the Father to finish the work He had come to do. In this prayer, He saw Himself as no longer being in the world, because His work was ending and would continue through His disciples. For this reason, He asked the Father to keep them, because soon He would be at the right hand of God, where He would assume all power in Heaven and on Earth.
Christ emphasized that He was no longer in the world, but we are here, subject to the temptations of the devil and his demons. Understanding the extent of this prayer of the Master will help us and confirm to God that we are His holy people. The enemy cannot touch us or oppress us, because we have learned about what Jesus did on our behalf and we believe it. It is certain that every prayer made by the Master has been answered by the Most High. We are under the Lord's guard!
The Savior had already warned us that, in the world, we would be attacked by the devil, but we shouldn't fear, because the work He has done has delivered us from any fall, all we have to do is believe: These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16.33). Through His Word, we will face afflictions with the conviction that we will overcome them!
Jesus called His Father holy, whom evil will never draw near. The enemy will never touch the Lord, because He is Consuming Fire, and the devil can't stand that. The holy Father will guard us from every satanic trap, so that Hell will think a thousand times before approaching us. We are guarded by the powerful God to fulfill His Word any minute that evil arises. Believe, pray and overcome!
Speaking to the Father, Christ showed that His Name gives us the protection we need in any situation. Everything works out when we turn to the Lord. He gives us the blessing we need. Then we can rest and trust in His promises revived in us, so that we can continue on the smooth path that will transform us and give us life. We are God's people, so nothing will defeat us.
Jesus ended the verse by saying that His request was for us to be one as He and the Father were. Now, if we continue in this direction, we will emerge victorious from the struggles, and no dart from the enemy will hit us. But unfortunately, many only imagine they are one with the Lord in order to receive healing, peace and prosperity, without giving Him the right to use everything they have. As a result, almost nothing is done for others. Mercy!
We have a goal to reach: to be one with God, just as the Father and the Son were. Of course, there is a long way to go, but we must improve every day. When we have done what God commands us, we will reach that position. Remember: Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded (James 4.8).
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
Triune God! Your Son’s prayer presents us with a great challenge: to also be one with You and Your Son. This delights and surprises us! We must live as You desire, and that is why our hearts cry out for Your help to reach such a position.
We live in a dirty world, full of evil snares that try to trap us at every moment. We want nothing from the system that governs the Earth, but we ask for Your help. We need to stand before You, doing Your will!
“In Your name, keep those whom You have given Me,” Jesus prayed. We thank You for having listened to this cry and for loving us from the beginning. We were not responsible for the fall, but we were born and lived in sin. However, we want to improve our path!
