But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord
Genesis 13:13
Seek to understand why the Holy Spirit called the men and women of Sodom great sinners. If there are attitudes in your life that are condemned by the Word of God, get rid of them in order to stop the devil's work. Abandon sin and seek the Most High, as the Bible declares: If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. (Colossians 3:1).
Lot did not care about the inhabitants of Sodom; he only saw that the land was good for planting, raising livestock, and living. That was all that interested him, for he thought God would take care of him and his family. When the Lord sent angels to announce the destruction, Lot tried to persuade his sons-in-law to leave with him, but they ignored him and even spoke ill of him (Genesis 19:14). To do the work of God, one must be saved and not harbor anything of the devil in the heart, in order to resist evil when the trial comes.
Many waste their time by failing to live according to the Scriptures, so they are unable to snatch anyone from the fire (Jude 1:23). Some heard Lot speak about respecting the heavenly visitors, and they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” (Genesis 19:9a). It is good to heal the sick, but saving souls is better!
The Church does not need to learn philosophy or any other science to do God's work. It needs biblical teachings to know what God expects of His children, for they will answer for their actions concerning the Lord's commands. Christ instructed us: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. (John 14.12). Obey!
We must seek out the inhabitants of cities and the countryside, all who are lost, great and small, for God will bring about salvation. We cannot imitate them, but rather preach the Gospel to them. There is nothing better than seeing the Most High use His Word to change lives. We were not instructed to train religious followers, but disciples, new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), who will do the work with love and courage!
Imagine if Lot had not coveted the green lands and had desired the conversion of those people who were enemies of the Lord. Would Abraham, unlike Lot, have made converts, or would nothing good have come of that region? Jesus said, for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. (Matthew 11:23b). Lot's move to Sodom only complicated the situation, but I believe that with Abraham it would have been different.
When a minister of the Gospel is sent by God to a place to speak to sinners, wonders are performed. The fact that the Lord appoints one of His servants is a sign that things will change in that place. God will not rest until He sees faith in Christ dwell in everyone's heart. We are used as instruments of change where sin once reigned!
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
God of mercy! It would have been different for the inhabitants of Sodom, Gomorrah, and neighboring cities if, instead of Lot, Abraham had lived in those lands. We have never heard of any people who complained about the patriarch entering their region with so much livestock. Your hand protected him!
We desire not only Your wonders, but also to see You use us in the work of saving humanity. Father, Jerusalem is surrounded by enemies who want to destroy it, but it will remain standing because it belongs to You!
A thousand will fall at her side, ten thousand at her right hand, but she will suffer no harm. We do not want wars, but what comes from You. Prepare us to win the lost from all nations!
