Meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains

Colossians 4:3

I have yet to hear of a group of brothers formed to intercede for pastors and other church workers. Scandals would cease in any congregation where this act of faith took place. The Holy Spirit used Paul to plead with the church to pray for the ministerial leaders whom Christ had placed in His house of prayer. Do church members only want to receive from pastors?

The Lord knows the importance of His people gathering to cry out for the Angel of the church, whose responsibility is to feed God’s flock. Imagine if a group began to watch the pastor, waiting to see him stumble, only to hand him over to leadership so that he might be removed from his position. The one who brought these people together was not the One who teaches us the Word, the Holy Spirit. It is shameful that in some places this behavior exists!

Paul wanted everyone to cry out so that the door of the Word would be opened to them, for they were instruments of God. It is an arduous task to always have spiritual food to give to the members, for we also have families and needs that sometimes increase. Like anyone else, we go through cold, rainy, or intensely hot days in the spiritual realm. Without a doubt, a church united at the feet of Christ will be firm and powerful!

If the Lord opens the door of the Word, His servant will enter and find pasture to feed His little children, who wait for His guidance day and night. Carry out every instruction you are given, for you will be blessed with generosity: Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. (Ecclesiastes 11.1). God is faithful to fulfill His eternal Word (Luke 6:38). Beware of the liar!

Once, a man sought out the pastor, asking for prayer, because he had gone bankrupt and had nothing to eat. Some time later, he returned to give the pastor a hug and tell him how God had reversed that story, blessing him. He bought a new car for his wife and each of his children, but left the pastor using an old car. Furthermore, I wonder: was he influenced not to tithe (Matthew 23:23; Hebrews 7:8)?

Speaking of the mystery of Christ is challenging, because it can only be done through the anointing given to those entrusted with feeding His flock. A pastor does not need hugs, but rather intercession in the Holy Spirit. When you are praying for your leader, ask the Lord to lead you to speak in tongues, for when speaking mysteries, you intercede without knowing what is being asked or given thanks for. Church members need to cry out together!

Jesus declared: Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1 John 2.15). He also said: ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’” (Luke 10.27b). Make sure you are serving God and not serving yourself!

In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer

Father, Forgiver and Rewarder! You are perfect, good, and loving. Therefore, we thank You for the blessings You have given us, lifting us up when we are deceived by the enemy or stumble in our lusts!

We want to see the brothers and sisters intercede for their pastors, so that the Word may reach their lips. We are grateful that You have clothed us with mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and love!

We need to put these virtues into practice so that the world may see Christ in us, the hope of Your glory upon us. We must be supported by You so that we do not follow the paths of the devil. We desire to live in Your holiness!
