Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed

Matthew 8:3

By healing the leper, Jesus showed that He has the power to purify those contaminated by the “leprosy” of sin (1 John 1:9). Certainly, that man longed to be rid of the disease that led him to live in the fields, far from his family. Sexual prostitution, like any other kind, marks a person forever, because it is not something normal for human beings to practice.

The Israelites cried out for meat after a long time in the desert. So God ensured that they would eat what they asked for in that inhospitable place. So, Moses asked God where he could get meat for everyone, and the Lord replied: “Has the LORD’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.” (Numbers 11:23b).

When the Most High extends His hand, the necessary work occurs immediately, whether it be the healing of any disease or even deliverance from death. The Philistines troubled Israel until Saul's death, but there was a period when this was interrupted because Samuel cried out to the Lord. So the Philistines were subdued, and they did not come anymore into the territory of Israel. And the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel. (1 Samuel 7:13). When they prayed, the solution came!

Our heavenly Father can solve any problem and heal all diseases. However, we must come into His presence as we are instructed in His Word. Remember: the New Testament is the ideal model for overcoming our struggles. Those who are not servants of God see no reason to use faith to succeed in their battles. The Lord is faithful!

Isaiah was used to tell King Hezekiah that the Assyrians would not enter Jerusalem, nor would any arrow fall on the city (Isaiah 37:33–35). The prophet declared: “Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” (Isaiah 59:1). God answered them!

We were made kings and priests to God, to minister in times of peace or war (Revelation 5:10). We just need to be guided to take the necessary steps as the Word instructs: “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” (Proverbs 21:1). Being in communion with the Most High, we will be inclined to make the right decisions!

Paul preached to the proconsul Sergius Paulus, but a sorcerer contradicted everything the apostle said. Faced with this, the messenger from Heaven said: “And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.” And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand. (Acts 13:11). The proconsul believed!

Today's Prayer

God of salvation! The leper found himself cleansed by the stretching out of Your hand. May we always have it extended toward us, so that we can lead every lost person to redemption, as happened with the proconsul Sergius Paulus. What a marvelous work You have done!

The Philistines wanted to destroy Your people, but when Samuel pleaded with You, they witnessed a storm never before seen by man. Your people inflicted the necessary defeat upon their enemies so that they would no longer trouble them!

The Israelites cried out in the desert for meat. But You had a greater purpose with the manna, because this food contained the nutritional properties that would keep Your people from getting sick in that place. We praise You for this!
