THE GLORY OF THE MINISTRY

For behold, I have made you this day a fortified city and an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land— against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land
Jeremiah 1:18
The nation of Judah was destroying itself because the people, kings, princes, and other authorities had left the Lord and gone in search of gods to help them. Poor souls! These people were planting evil seeds and would soon reap the consequences of their actions. After the death of King Josiah, the inhabitants of the kingdom began to live in falsehood, like those who were never gods, but demons (1 Corinthians 10:19, 20).
God did not hide from Jeremiah that he would face unimaginable opposition, since the devil’s seed had taken root in the inhabitants of that city. Although the prophet had the anointing to condemn those unthinkable acts, he was persecuted and even thrown into a dungeon (Jeremiah 37). Many have paid a high price for speaking of God's love, but the persecution did not come from Him. The reason for it will be revealed in eternity!
In describing Jeremiah as a fortified city, the Lord was preparing His servant for the arduous mission he would carry out before the chosen people whom God had chosen for Himself. The Israelites still considered themselves part of the flock of the Most High, but they turned to “gods.” This saddened God's heart. Despite warnings from Heaven about the punishment that would come upon the Israelites, they no longer believed in anything else!
The prophet was to act as an iron pillar to sustain the house. However, due to the nation's disobedience, it would be punished swiftly. Judah crossed the line established by God's patience. Today, many people experience a similar situation: they remain in sin, and when they realize it, they will already be in the lake of fire and brimstone. May the Father have mercy!
The people who should have been an example of faithfulness, holiness, and God's love, as those appointed for that purpose, defied the Word of the Most High with such licentiousness as is found only among those used by demons. Today, the Earth is contaminated by the iniquities that destroyed great civilizations. Even some people who call themselves Christians live in the “freedom” that imprisons them in the hands of the chief of Hell.
When the Lord calls a person to represent Him, He gives them the power to make His Word prevail. Undoubtedly, the Sovereign of the entire Universe knows the ability of those called to be His servants. Before forming you, the Lord already knew what you would need to fulfill the mission He would reveal to you. Those prepared by God are empowered to serve Him.
Take note of the power granted by Jesus to those He set apart for His work: And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. (Matthew 10:1). There is no way to despise His choice!
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
God of our choices! You called Jeremiah to be a fortified city, so that Your people would not stray, falling into the lies of the devil. But, unfortunately, the Israelites chose to imitate the lost. Mercy!
They did not accept Your Word, despite the constant warnings of Your servant. Therefore, they were taken into Babylonian captivity. There, they learned through suffering what Your love taught in peace. They lost everything, for they had lost You first!
If we fulfill Your perfect plan, the enemy will not harm us, nor will any stain be found in us. Help us to fulfill Your commandments and to live by faith in Christ. We thank You for helping us at all times!
