Not for your sake do I do this,” says the Lord God, “let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel!”

Ezekiel 36.32

The alienation of man caused by Adam's sin, which did not respect God's Word, was the greatest loss humanity could suffer. As a result, human beings have become estranged from the Being who is the Truth (Isaiah 59.1). Whoever believes in other gods is terribly mistaken, as this will condemn them forever (Revelation 21:8). Because He is perfect in every way, the Lord does not wish us eternal harm. He urges us to come to our senses!

There are those who claim not to believe in God, but believe in the existence of an author of creation, referring to the perfection of nature. However, they miss out on the best thing: the blessing of believing that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and no one goes to the Father, the Author of creation, except through Him (John 14.6). By having faith in Christ, you take a step towards eternal happiness; however, if you confess otherwise, you follow the liar.

The king of Judah and the citizens of that country left the One who had brought them out of Egypt to follow non-existent gods. They even offered their children to the devil and his demons, paying a high price. In this way, they angered the One who, out of love, allowed Babylon to indoctrinate them in her own way, since they didn't want to learn from the Word. It was 70 years of humiliation for their mistakes. They abandoned the fountain of living waters, digging broken cisterns (Jeremiah 2:13).

The Lord preserved the faithful who also went to Babylon as servants of Nebuchadnezzar the Pharisee. The latter promoted himself to the position of god by making an image of himself to be praised (Daniel 3). The three young men who refused to worship him were tossed into a furnace heated seven times hotter than normal, but not a hair was burnt or scorched by the hatred of that mad monarch. God delivered them!

Even today, there are places where people are imprisoned for believing in the Savior, and some are killed for it. However, the blood of these martyrs is seed that sprouts abundantly in lives that surrender to the Lord, showing the executioners that Christ is the One who reigns forever. These heroes of the faith write the history of Christianity in our day, not loving their own lives, which actually belong to the Creator. They will be rewarded in Glory (Matthew 5.10-12).

God knows what is best for humanity and saves the lost out of His infinite love. This is the time for the wise to set an example of wisdom by accepting Jesus as Savior and living the love that prevents them from sinning and giving the devil the satisfaction of leading them to eternal suffering. Bow down before Christ, confessing Him as the Rescuer who died on the cross on behalf of all.

The stubborn will be ashamed and confounded in their ways, for they have denied the Lord the right to lead them to eternity on the Way of Good, which will never be changed. Your attitude towards the salvation offered will reverberate in you forever. Those who deny salvation will be denied entry into Paradise; however, if they accept it, they will be successful in Heaven.

In Christ, with love

Today's Prayer

God of eternal love! How can anyone be a doctor in any field of science if they reject salvation? The intelligent, in fact, embrace You and never deny You. Our worst decision is not to give You the right to redeem us through the work done by Christ on the cross!

Already in the world, we begin to enjoy Your peace, living free from sin. But when Your Son comes back for us, we will go up with Him and never again see misery, sin or any other suffering. We thank You for loving us!

We pray on behalf of those who ask for forgiveness for the times of ignorance, when we committed transgressions. We are grateful for salvation and for being made Your children. May Your mercy reach the lost! Lord, save them!
