They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you”

Jeremiah 1:19

What a tremendous statement from God! There is no way for the forces of evil to fight against those who stand firm, obeying the commands given by the Lord. Such people are included among the blessed of the Lord. The devil attacks the saved, using lies and temptations to draw them away from the presence of the Most High and cause them to suffer. However, God declares: They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you.

Jeremiah was chosen for a mission when he was still formless. In fact, even before conception, God knows the gender of the person, whether they will be male or female, as David said: For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13). The Creator knows the structures that exist within you and how to activate them. Therefore, surrender to Him to fulfill your calling.

God has prepared us to continue the work of evangelizing the world (Mark 16:15). Therefore, we must accept this task and never rise up against the Lord’s plans (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). We only see what exists, but the Father knows our innermost being, and with His help, we can march steadily toward victory in any battle He allows us to fight. Victory does not belong to man, but to the One who created Heaven and earth. He is our Father (John 1:12)!

The emissaries of the kingdom of darkness will strive to defeat us. However, if we are with the Savior, we will never be overcome. After all, when He went to Hell, He defeated evil: Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15). Why not believe that Jesus did this for you and me? The way to overcome the evil one is to exercise our faith in Christ.

Every human being has the right to hear the Gospel—the Good News of what Christ did for humanity. By dying for our sins, Jesus descended into Hell and stripped the devil of the authority that he had stolen from Adam. People also need to know that the Son of God accomplished His redemptive work by rising from the dead. Now we are God's people, provided that we believe that He did all this to save us (John 5:24).

When you receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord, your sins are blotted out and forgotten (Isaiah 43:25). By dying on the cross at Calvary, Christ completely acquitted you (Isaiah 53:4-6). So when you are attacked by any evil, believe that you no longer owe anything to the devil and that God is on your side. Authority over the works of evil has been given to you, so you will always overcome the adversary!

Don't be deceived or oppressed by the devil, because the Almighty will empower and help you. The Lord wants to deliver you from evil, and for that, He needs you to be completely connected to Jesus: If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (John 15:7).

Today's Prayer

Beloved Lord! It does not matter if Hell rises up against us. Even if it comes with all its might, You will be before us. In You, we have the guarantee that no evil will befall us, nor will any plague come near our tent!

Who can prevail against You? Why should we fear the darkness if You guarantee that demons will never prevail against us? Your Word is the Truth we need to know, so that we may never be defeated!

All we needed was to hear that You are with us, to deliver us from any fiery dart of the enemy. As it is written, nothing bad will happen to us in the holy place. We rest secure, because You are our Fortress!
