The diabolical persecution continued to follow the Master. The enemy wanted a slip from the One who is the Truth, the Way, and the Life (John 14:6). It is evident that the evil one will never be able to do his works in the One who came into the world to save us from perdition. Jesus learned from His Father and, therefore, would never fall into the trap of the liar and thief (John 8:38,44). However, to show that He would not be brought down, Christ allowed the devil to take Him to a high mountain.

The evil plan will never succeed against the people of God nor will it be able to harm them. The Bible sings a victory song about Jesus when it states: For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  (Hebrews 4.12). The Savior is awesome!

The Word of the Lord continues to reveal the capacity of Christ, opening our understanding of what He can do through His virtues: And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4.13). The enemy's intention was bare and evident to the eyes of the Master, therefore those attacks were in vain. Jesus is our Protector!

The end of the cited verse concludes by saying that we must deal with the Lord. His powers are at our disposal. Therefore, if we walk in full communion with Him, we will see how much He will act in our favor. Therefore, yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  (Romans 8.37). It is impossible for the adversary to defeat us if we cry out to Jesus against the misfortunes that befall us and try to undermine our trust in the Son of God. The Lord is good!

The evil one wasted time with the proposals he made, because the Master responded to everything based on the Word. Now, if we are in Christ, and He is in us, we will be granted whatever we ask for within His promises: If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (John 15.7).

We must love the Savior more; after all, His blessings encompass every human need. We must not forget that He came to free the lost. So, serve God as He taught, and you will see how good it is to have fellowship with Emmanuel, which translates to God with us (Matthew 1:23). How will we lose any battle if the Lord will be by our side?

Satan took Jesus to a high mountain, but He knew every grain of sand, every piece of land in that region. Being the very Word, Christ created the Universe (John 1:1-3). However, He left His glory to come and seek the sheep that were lost in Adam's sin (Phillipians 2:5-11). The devil lost the battle!
