And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent
John 17.3
The Lord Jesus' definition of eternal life is something new, difficult to understand, but it is the truth in its final manifestation. In short, He directed us to know the Father as He is: the true God. It sounds simple, but if we at least come close to what it means to know the Father and the Son, we will succeed in the work done by Christ and we will never doubt the God we serve.
After having solved the case of the golden calf made by Aaron, when Moses was on Mount Horeb with God, the people corrupted themselves by living the customs of the ungodly while still in Egypt. These attitudes of the Hebrews saddened the Lord, who decided not to go up with them to take the land from the reprobate nations for their unworthy and sinful way of living. However, the Almighty would send an angel, and this bad news saddened them (Exodus 33:4). The bad decision had been made!
God explained why He wouldn't go up with them. The way they behaved, the Most High would destroy them because He is holiness and a consuming fire. For the Lord had said to Moses, “Say to the children of Israel, ‘You are a stiff-necked people. I could come up into your midst in one moment and consume you. Now therefore, take off your ornaments, that I may know what to do to you.’” (Exodus 33.5). Faced with this word, God's servant interceded for the people.
The Hebrews couldn't enter the Land of Promise because they weren't ready yet, just as we wouldn't be until we accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. There is no way to save anyone from eternal death unless they are converted and born again, which are the conditions for entering the Kingdom of God: Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (John 3.5).
When Moses realized that God was determined not to go up with Israel, he acted as an advocate for good, declaring: Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.” (Exodus 33.13). The deliverer wanted to know the way in order to know the Lord, and then he would find favor in His eyes. He also asked the Most High to have compassion on the people.
Once we examine these facts, we see that without knowing the Lord, we will never reach eternal life. The heavenly Father wants to reveal Himself to humanity, including Egypt, which symbolizes error: Then the Lord will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the Lord and perform it. (Isaiah 19.21). We are close to a worldwide revival!
Soon, the Jews will have their eyes opened, they will convert to Jesus and they will be good and anointed evangelists, used by God in a beautiful and inexplicable way. We need to strive in order for the prophecies to be fulfilled everywhere. Our time is now; then Israel will truly know the One who made the Covenant with Abraham.
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
God of eternal life! We come to You to plead for Your favor. Your work needs Your anointing, so that the Earth may fear and tremble before You. Nothing will stop us from proclaiming faith and life in Jesus. Then, we will say: “Maranatha!”.
When the Gospel of the Kingdom is preached to the whole world and the power of Your Name is demonstrated by healing the sick and freeing the captives, we will pray steadfastly, asking for the return of Christ: “Maranatha!”.
Those who do not know the Word invent lies in order to deceive the helpless and the poor. However, we proclaim the solution to problems, the healing of illnesses and the restoration of the destroyed lives that wander the world. We say: “Maranatha: come now, Lord Jesus!”.
