THE SEPARATION INCREASES

Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more.

Genesis 37.5

Joseph proved that he was Jacob's son by the way he lived. The Word of God says about Esau and Jacob: So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a mild man, dwelling in tents (Genesis 25.27). They were born together, but had different temperament. When we analyze this fact, the theory that the day of someone's birth influences their entire life does not sustain itself, as they were different!

The animosity between Joseph and his brothers only increased, and, thus, envy grew in the hearts of the brothers, something that perhaps Joseph had not realized, or did not want to report them for this error. He believed more in his innocence and, as he was a man of prayer, he probably prayed for them. The more he gave himself to God, the more he showed the Lord's favor towards him. However, this only enraged his brothers. We don't know what was going on in the father's heart, for we don't have a record about it.

Parents should pay attention to their children's behavior and, when they notice something strange appearing and dominating one of them, they should call them to talk and clarify the situation. It's common for one of the parents to not be in tune with God, which is why things like this happen. The devil's kingdom uses any device in order to turn family members against each other. As a result, the evil trap prospers to the point of causing serious harm to everyone. Behind envy, there are demons!

In fact, every abnormality is a sign of the work of darkness, therefore, we must be firm in our communion with the Lord, rebuking the forces of discord, strife and destruction. According to Jesus, the devil comes to carry out his work: The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly ( John 10:10). God is present where there is love, friendship and fear!

In a marriage where one person was unfaithful, or simply distanced themselves from their spouse, there is no longer a link between the two. Then, the desire for divorce soon comes. Now, whoever allowed the enemy to act in their life can no longer love their other half, avoiding them and annoying them at all times. Without true repentance, their lives will be a torment, and divorce will soon happen, but after a while, the innocent party will return to living well. Watch and pray!

If there is separation, the problem will not be resolved. Jesus instructed:  So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” The party willing to separate was undoubtedly used by the devil, so it needs to repent to obtain forgiveness and not be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone ( 1 Corinthians 6.10). Repentance makes one live again!

Joseph did nothing to annoy them, but, since greed dominated them, they did not see having a brother loved by the Almighty as a gift. Likewise, many couples split without seeing what a blessing the innocent party would be for both of them. One left and the other was left alone; whoever remained had peace, a clear conscience, and will enjoy from it eternally. Don't be reckless, make amends now!

Today's Prayer

God of holy presence! Jacob's sons did not understand that You were with Joseph and, therefore, when they sold him, they were left without Your grace. They shouldn’t have done that, but they should have told their father what happened, to be forgiven!

Many don’t realize that they are heading towards eternal perdition, because they do not have the courage to confess the evil they have done. They don't know that You are a God of justice and You don't exonerate the sinner, but you forgive those who decide to get things right in life!

Livra quem cedeu ao maligno; assim, ele jamais se perderá. Livra aquele que transgrediu e mostra-lhe que o pecado traz consequências. Nada Te impedirá de fazer o bem a quem busca o Teu perdão e a Tua misericórdia!
