So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.

Matthew 8.15

The Bible records countless healings, even the resurrection of the dead by the touch of the Savior's hands (Luke 7:11-17). We can't let the devil deceive us by saying that those healings aren't for our time. But how can we not, when the Word says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8)? God's wonders must take place today through the ministry of His faithful ones, who believe in Christ's resurrection and call us to finish the holy work (John 14:12).

That day was one of great blessings. After ministering in the synagogue in the city of Capernaum, Jesus entered Peter's house and saw His disciple's mother-in-law with a high fever. In view of this, the Master probably commented on her, which must have been overlooked. Jesus' words prompted someone to ask Him to heal her, and He blessed her. Christ bent down to her and rebuked the fever, which left her (Luke 4.39). Matthew says that the Lord touched her. Believe it, too!

After finishing the Sermon on the Mount, considered by many to be the Constitution of the Kingdom of God, a man covered in leprosy ran up to the Savior and prostrated himself before him, saying: Lord, if You are willing, you can make me clean (Matthew 8.2b). He didn't let that man have any doubts about God's will for humanity by acting in this way: Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, I’ m willing; be cleansed. Immediately his leprosy was cleansed (v. 3). God works!

For Jesus, demons, illnesses and any other evil of the body or mind had to be cast out. That's why He spent two-thirds of His ministry helping people afflicted by the devil's evils. Here's another case: Christ was going to the house of Jairus, one of the rulers of the synagogue, whose daughter was dying. And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind and touched the hem of His garment (Matthew 9.20). She believed!

Now, the Law of Moses prescribed that someone suffering from an illness similar to that of that woman could not touch anyone who was healthy. But when she heard about the Savior, she understood that if she only touched the hem of His garment, she would be healed. When she felt the healing, she moved away and kept quiet. Christ asked her who had touched her, but she said nothing. When He insisted, she told Him the truth. Touching Jesus brings healing and liberation!

One day, Jesus gathered Peter, James and John and they went to a high mountain. There, Christ was transfigured before them. It looked like paradise, so Peter suggested that, if the Master wanted, he could make three huts: one for Him, one for Moses and one for Elijah. A bright cloud covered them, and a voice was heard from heaven saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him. They fell on their faces and were very afraid. Jesus touched them and told them not to be afraid (Matthew 17.2-7). What a special moment!

Matthew also tells of two blind men who followed Jesus, crying out for mercy, but were not answered immediately. And as they continued to follow Him, their faith grew: And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I ’m able do this?” They said to Him: “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith, let it be to you.” And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying: “See that no one knows it” (Matthew 9.28-30). God invites you to be happy!
