So the craftsman encouraged the goldsmith; he who smooths with the hammer inspired him who strikes the anvil, saying, “It is ready for the soldering”; then he fastened it with pegs, that it might not totter
Isaiah 41.7
The craftsman is the creator of an idea that he himself will realize, or other people with manual or intellectual skills will build it, according to the direction of the one who has creativity. Unfortunately, many imagine things that are against God. Now, whether aware of it or not, because of the audacity to produce something abominable to the Lord, he and his family will pay a high price for the image of the idol to be sold, donated or exchanged. The spirit of idolatry never came from the Most High!
In the verse under study, the craftsman encourages the goldsmith to make a sculpture, in order to make money from what will become an object of worship or an ornament to be appreciated by others. By acting this way, they rebel against the Lord's command: “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth - (Exodus 20.4). The responsibility of the craftsman and the goldsmith is identical. Watch out!
Many people commit the same disobedience to God, buying or offering the sculpture to be worshiped. However, the Word advises: you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, (Exodus 20.5). The Lord will visit that wickedness!
The children of God are forbidden to possess images of worship and even to encourage people to worship them. Whoever believes in them, declaring that they have power, will suffer the consequences of this act. Idolatry is used by Satan to make a person mock God's prohibition, as he used the serpent to deceive Eve, who soon observed the fruit and found it good, pleasant, and desirable to eat (Genesis 3).
The goldsmith smooths the metal with the hammer and then praises his own work, which causes many to fall into the same condemnation as the serpent. The poor lives will pay with their souls for someone else's sin. Why, then, disrespect the Creator, if the devil is involved in this bold work, a crime against divine holiness? According to Isaiah, whoever produces, sells, or worships an idol becomes like it, without any capacity (Isaiah 44:10-11).
Well, the idol, by itself, will not stand, but will fall to the ground. If it cannot take care of itself, as it is an object, how will it be able to take care of someone tempted by the enemy? Understand: a sculpture needs to be supported by something or be fixed, and it won't leave there unless someone takes it. Do not believe in something condemned by the Bible, just have faith in the Lord, who made Heaven and Earth and promised to always be by our side.
With God, it is different, for He desires to restore your being by removing what is worthless and granting you life in abundance (John 10:10b). Why not seek the Lord now and enter His presence, in the Name of Jesus, to see all your troubles leave? God is the infallible Friend!
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
Father, Author of Life! We have no words to thank You for being the Creator and Sustainer of our lives. It is good to know that You promised not to abandon us, but to heal us from any evil. You are different from what religions preach!
Hatred causes harm, but Your love never forsakes us and lifts us up to achieve the full life brought by Jesus. For us, this is the most important thing. We need to be in Your presence. God, we cry out for Your blessings!
We have nothing to do with the idols made by men who want to make money. We are grateful because You made the prophet Isaiah instruct about the futility and danger of making, buying, and worshipping objects. We worship only You, Lord!
