THOUGHTS OF THE HEART

Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Genesis 6.5

We began a series of messages about the person who lets the enemy nest in their heart. As a result, the devil does his work in them and in their family. Is there a way to stop this evil? Yes. However, if there is no true repentance, wickedness will reign and destroy the dreams of those who haven't had common sense to reject temptation. We must stay alert and pray (Mark 14.38)!

It all begins in the thoughts of the heart, where the evil one manages to implant his suggestion, which, when accepted, widens the door that should have been closed with repentance. From then on, the tempter invites seven other worse spirits to enter this life, and much suffering takes place. They do what they want to those who have not been able to protect themselves (Matthew 12.41-45). Only repentance destroys sin!

Even if you have been attracted by temptation, but not yet fallen, you must confess this fact to God, so that your heart is not possessed by darkness. From the moment you begin to listen to the enemy, he intensifies his approach, because he realizes that you like what you've been shown. Anyone who doesn't keep watch against evil and listens to the devil will think it's easy to get away from his attacks, but this is a mistake.

Those who give in to the offers of hell must repent immediately and cry out for divine forgiveness, so that the enemy doesn't cause them to suffer (read Ephesians 4.27 and its context). The beginning of the evil work in someone's life may be pleasing, but the end will be disastrous. Being the father of lies, Satan will strive to bring man to the place of affliction (Matthew 21.41). As people were created in the likeness and image of God (Genesis 1.26), the adversary wants to have them in the lake of fire, as revenge that would serve to mitigate his suffering.

The devil's wickedness in the life of someone who has fallen into transgression multiplies mightily, because he doesn't want to see the person repent and be freed from iniquity. His strategy is to lead the unwary to experience all kinds of sin, so that many will not repent. The king of wickedness doesn't want to lose his prey for anything; he will use you when you are being tormented, day and night, to try to assuage his pain and despair.

When the Lord sees that you have become a tool in the hands of the evil one and you refuse to repent, your situation becomes very difficult. As long as you refuse to give the Holy Spirit a chance, God can do nothing to help you. Why do this when you can still be a true and successful servant? It’s not worth to walk in error, because the price will be very high. Go back to your Father's house!

If you give room to the enemy's insatiable appetite without turning back, you are a candidate to be a lost case. Without allowing the Lord to work on your recovery, you will soon be handed over to the tempter. Besides, what is considered bad will become normal in your life. If you don't want to face the anguish and shame of eternal damnation, surrender to the Savior now and be saved, delivered and healed (John 3:36). He will do it!

Today's Prayer

Omniscient Lord! In the Name of Jesus, we ask You to see the temptations around us and deliver us from them. You are the only One capable of transforming our life into a blessing. If we fall into the devil's hands, we will never fulfill Your plan!

Shape our thinking so that we are always in Your presence and can overcome the devil's temptations. Why are we not answered if we pray in the Name of Jesus, the Savior? Surely Your goodness and love follow us!

Cleanse our hearts from evil, from the actions of the enemy that come to destroy our peace and make our love for You wither. It is beautiful to be a member of Your family, because the enemy cannot touch us and we can drive him out of the lives of those he oppresses!
