TO WHOM DOES LOVE HARM?

But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him.

Genesis 37.4

The envious don't understand that loving your neighbor is good in every way. According to the Lord, envy destroys the structure of those who feel it: A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is the rottenness to the bones (Proverbs 14.30). Those who indulge in this feeling are unaware that their health will soon be affected by it. As a result, their structure for resisting sin will rot away.

We should want a successful person to prosper even more, especially in their spiritual life. Envy breaks the purpose of the Most High for His people. Look at what He wants for His children: Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133.1). The Most High knows how good it is to live without distrusting our brothers and sisters in the faith, enjoying the peace of heaven with them!

Whoever is possessed by envy will realize the mistake they have made, because the grief caused by someone else's happiness will keep them from success. This is what happened with Miriam and Aaron. Moses' brothers, used by the devil, criticized him for marrying a foreign woman, cushite. The devil made discrimination take hold of them, and the Lord judged Miriam, who remained outside the camp for seven days, exposed to shame and danger from the predators of the desert (Numbers 12.1-15). Be careful!

Joseph's brothers were saddened to see how much their father loved him, but that didn't mean he didn't love them too. Jacob didn't know how to deal with this problem, which is why the situation had a bad outcome. The Bible says: Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness, springing up cause trouble and by this many become defiled (Hebrews 12.15). Rebuke evil, and all will be well!

When you see someone succeeding in the work of the Most High, reject the lies of the evil one, who wants to see you deprived of your blessing and therefore makes you envy those who are blessed by the Lord. The person used by the Most High must be encouraged to give more of himself to Him, maintaining diligence in his consecration. If you allow vanity to take over your heart, you won't get to where He can use you!

At first, the envious person begins to annoy the one in the limelight and then wants to harm that person and may even carry out something against them or pay someone to do so, incriminating themselves forever. In any abnormality, ask for God's mercy and follow it. This is the remedy to neutralize demonic action. The Word says: For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry (1 Samuel 15.23a).

Envy increases its possession, making the individual unable to bear another's victory. He then begins to fight to destroy the other person by means of lies or even by using a lethal weapon. If you are overcome by this feeling, get rid of it while there is still time; otherwise, eternal damnation will be your path. Once you are in the Lord's Covenant, stay alert and pray!

Today's Prayer

O God! We don't want to be used by the devil to hinder anyone, not even ourselves. That's why we come before You to beg for Your favor and Your help. The enemy wants to separate us from You, and that is unacceptable. Forgive us, Father!

Jacob showed that he loved Joseph more than his other sons, but this was an example of what You do for us. Your love will be evident in anyone who keeps Your commandments and Your judgments. Jacob followed Your recipe!

People must learn that by loving You, they can be loved in a special way. Anyone who is not interested in You is suffering from some evil influence that prevents You from acting in their life. May our hearts be pure enough to be loved by You!
