The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house

Genesis 12.15

When she entered Egypt, Sarah impressed everyone with her beauty. Men spoke of her with great praise, but she showed the beauty of the Church that would arise two thousand years later. Wherever we go to present the Gospel—places where Jesus is unknown, and many are bound to religion—people cannot stop talking about what they have heard and seen with their own eyes. The beauty of God's Word impresses them!

Abraham feared that the Egyptians would kill him because of Sarah. Today, missionaries suffer persecution when they go to fields not yet reached by the Good News. In such places, there are those who, when they see the signs, wonders, and marvels of the Lord, incite people to rise up against God's servants, for they fear the end of their religion, which has never given them hope. They want to destroy those who make their religion shrink and feel ashamed. Is this the price of these souls?

Just as Sarah's beauty overshadowed the beauty of the local women, the lost, dissatisfied with what they had at home, would try to destroy Abraham. Today, there are cases of brothers in Christ who have been burned inside cars with their entire families. The reason for this hatred is easy to understand: there are leaders dominating cities and states and prospering with their tyranny, so they commit such crimes to continue in their error.

Once again, I do not want my observations about Abraham's actions to be used against me in the Judgment. However, according to the biblical account, the patriarch's faith was not used to justify his entry into Egypt, unless there was a purpose from Heaven. There, things unknown to us will be revealed. Jesus said, These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16.33).

Pray for those who are pioneering new lands, where the devil reigns with total freedom and the people are led to persecute those who obey the Lord. It is a great mistake to say that God's servants harm people when they go out to preach the Word, since the command came from the Savior Himself: And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned (Mark 16.15,16) Hell hates salvation!

The priests of Judaism also persecuted Jesus, to the point of allying themselves with the Romans to kill Him. The Savior said about this: Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.  (John 15.20). Many are waiting to hear the powerful message of the Good News!

Christ's message prevailed and today is as strong as it was when He ministered it personally and wonders happened. With that, the priests recognized the miracles and could not deny that fact. In the same way, the works done by the power of the Holy Spirit will change every thought contrary to the Truth. Believe!

In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer

God of true beauty! The beauty You gave Sarah not only impressed the Egyptians, but also opened their eyes to see that Your deeds went beyond their imagination. Sarah symbolizes the Gospel of Christ in action!

Today, when we present Your Word under the anointing of Your Spirit, You show Yourself to the lost and prove that their gods are worthless and can do nothing for them. Your love demonstrates this truth by healing, freeing, and saving those who hear You!

Give us the courage to preach the Word in the power of the Name of Jesus, the same message of the cross with the signs that followed the apostles of the early Church. We give You glory, honor, and praise for all we have done in the mission fields. You are the Good!
