WHAT REALLY MATTERS

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

John 4.24

It is of immense value to know that God is not equal to man, but man was created by the Lord to be in Him and to live with Him (Genesis 1:26,27). We are the only ones with a body that will rise from the dead and with a spirit created in the likeness of the Most High (2 Corinthians 5:1). This divine project will only be shown in Heaven. So, in order not to lose this blessing, we were saved from perdition. Then we will know the Father as He knows us (1 Corinthians 13:12).

To worship is to pay homage to God and, by keeping His commandments, we won't suffer eternal loss. We have to teach new converts to stand firm in the faith; otherwise, the world's appeals will get in the way. Those who are experienced in the faith and in resisting the devil must help those who are allowing themselves to be deceived by the evil one, when he places his temptations in front of them to destroy them. The firm action of the faithful pleases God!

The Word says that true worshippers don't let the devil deceive newcomers to the house of the Lord. There is little use in selecting a series of words to recite before God if there are brothers and sisters following the deceiver. We must evangelize in order to snatch the lost out of the fire (Jude 1:23), but they can be tempted to abandon the path, making our work in vain. Helping them is essential!

In order to reach the Samaritan woman, Jesus went out of His way, which was the shortest way to Jerusalem, and led that precious soul to understand God's plan. The Word says that He needed to go through Samaria (John 4.4). She did the same with the men of Sychar, and they went to meet the Master. With this act, the Lord showed how we should worship the Father, without saying empty words, while there are so many people perishing in sin.

Jesus gave us the mission to evangelize the world: And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations (Mark 13:10). Will we glorify God with beautiful words, but empty of content, or will we go out into the world, preaching the message of the cross? We must proclaim the Lord's love, for we have been found and commissioned as His faithful worshippers.

Worshipping God in spirit and in truth is our noblest mission, and those who succeed in doing so will live happily ever after. As well as being successful in this life, they will achieve full victory in Heaven. King David was called “the man after God's own heart”, because he worshipped God as He wished. Are you going to settle for what the Lord has not planned for your life? Get up and do the work!

Queen Esther wondered whether or not to speak to her husband, King Ahasuerus. Then Mordecai, the uncle who had brought her up, sent the following message: “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4.14). Be a worshipper!

Today's Prayer

Beloved Lord! You found us among the lost and saved us. We can say that we know Your will, but the devil is trying to trap us and prevent us from fulfilling Your commands. But now we rise up to praise You!

Like David, we are worshippers to serve You in spirit and in truth. Therefore, we take our stand before You and demand that the evil in our path, leading us astray and causing us suffering, leave now in the Name of Jesus!

We accept the command to worship You as You have planned. For Your glory, we command embarrassment, temptation and affliction to leave our lives and go to the depths of the sea. We declare ourselves delivered and empowered worshippers in You!
