For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “You are not all clean”

John 13:11

The Lord knows all the things that have occurred in the world from before its creation until now, for He is omniscient. There is no way for something to go unnoticed by Him. He knows how even a small thought was formed. There is no creature capable of hiding from the eyes of the One who sees everything (Hebrews 4:13). Even before Judas Iscariot thought of betraying the Savior, Christ already knew the details of the plan. It is with God that we have to deal!

Jesus warned of a sin that will bring to His tribunal anyone who dares to commit it: But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.  (Matthew 5:28). This transgression is on the list in Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, chapter 6, verse 10, which mentions the ten groups that will not inherit the Kingdom of God. The Gate is narrow, and the Way is difficult (Matthew 7:14). Why venture into error and be condemned forever? Watch and pray!

We are at a stage that will determine whether we will be saved or not, depending on the things we do, whether good or bad. The Bible warns us about what should be avoided and what the Lord approves as practice: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful (Psalm 1:1). The good choice, that of the Word, guarantees a happy eternity!

Will the people who were doing well but, at a certain point, gave in to temptations be saved? The Bible warns about this: But he who endures to the end shall be saved (Matthew 24:13). Christ spoke about some who cause scandal to His work: Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! (Matthew 18:7).

After mentioning the ten groups that will not inherit the Kingdom of God, the Bible speaks of the repentance and conversion of people who were in them and obtained divine forgiveness: And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:11). The work of salvation gives us the assurance of going to live in Heaven!

God not only knows the mistakes we make in our thoughts and hearts, but also our good intention to help those in need. Moreover, He sees our effort in witnessing the Truth to the people. Heavenly Father does not want our destruction, but rather that we seek Him in order to improve our works. He desires our well-being here in this life and in eternity!

When God called you, He knew what you would suffer without salvation, so He sent His Son to pay the price, sacrificing Himself for you. For this reason, the Lord invites you to come to Him to have life: You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life (John 5:39-40). Be wise and secure your happiness in Heaven now!

Today's Prayer

Lord! How could we forget You and refuse the salvation that Your Son won for our happiness in Your Kingdom of love and peace? We will never say “yes” to the devil, but we will receive the revelations of the Word, so that we may be eternally happy!

We are grateful for Your insistence on opening our eyes and forgiving the sins that the inclination of the flesh has caused us to commit. We beg for Your saving and perfect grace to transform us into obedient children. Help us to do Your will!

May Your Spirit assist us, giving us peace and love, for otherwise we would never please You. Deliver us from the temptations that seek to take us away from Your presence. You are the true Friend, the One who never turns His back on us!
